Do you honestly expect everyone to just kiss and make up? There's obviously bad blood here between the power brokers at LSU and Les and isn't going to go away anytime soon.

Give your honest assessment.

I would think the office is a little awkward this morning.

I hope they dont. Maybe this time next year we can finally get rid of him.

Alleva probably needs to go if there is a chance to eliminate the palpable and irreparable tension created in this mess.

no,but by Spring most of it will be patched up.And,its not all power brokers, but some.

Still, this was a complete dumpster fire on how LSU handled it. No way around that.

Hopefully this shook up Les a little and he hires an up and coming QB coach/OC and lets him do his job.

I'm no Alleva fan but I think Alexander should be handed his walking papers. If what I've read is true he is the polar opposite of a forward thinking Mark Emmert.

changes need to be made

Les thought he coached his last game against aTm

Joe had to eat it

But Lsu goes on - all you can do is watch the show and everyone in college football is watching

I have no idea what Lsu football will be like in 2016 - none

I know I will as a fan be pulling for the Tigers

I was 100% sure Les was fired - I was 100% wrong

all I can do is watch the show

What moron downvoted a legitimate question?

It's not like Les hasn't been stubborn in making staff changes.

I've no expectations until Miles is replaced. This fiasco is gonna hurt, IMO.

Les won the mob Saturday. I was there it was kind of fascinating. You could tell about mid-way thru the 2nd that it was turnover from it getting ugly with the boo birds.

Explain to an outsider why Les needs to go and who are you going to get that's a better coach/recruiter/representative than the one you currently have?

I've heard that as well. I haven't had a chance to read that article yet.

I said the same thing. Les Miles (through his agent) played LSU by his flirtation with Arkansas. It successfully got Miles got a generous raise. In turn, the AD at LSU pulled this stunt. It didn't work and it backfired. Alleva looked like a defeated, powerless man at the podium following Saturday's game. There is some toxic relationships between the Athletic Department, LSU boosters and the LSU football program.

You weren't the only one. I can't remember something like that ever happening before.

This actually happened:
quote:

Mark Richt Fired as Coach of Georgia.

Richt had the fifth-best winning percentage among active FBS coaches, behind only Ohio State's Urban Meyer, Oklahoma's Bob Stoops, Alabama's Nick Saban and TCU's Gary Patterson.

I don't need to explain anything if you watch Miles' in game adjustments and mundane offenses. Body of work is phenomenal, last 3-4 years is not good. Who LSU can get? Idk. I'm in commercial insurance. There are a lot of coaches out there.

Meh. I see it as Les is a man on borrowed time. Barring a tremendous season, his termination will come sooner than later.

I don't think there is really any other way to handle rumors. You wait until the end of the season, then make your evaluation, and decide whether or not to keep the coach. If Alleva had come out and said, "Les Miles is our man until the end of time." and then LSU proceeds to get blown out by A&M, it would've looked bad. If Alleva had come out and said LSU was looking top change directions and then LSU beats the pants off of A&M and whoever in the bowl game, it would've looked bad.

There's just no winning in some situations with some people. If they want you to look bad, you will look bad to them.

Ultimately Les HAD to get the message that having a 54th ranked offense and 110th ranked passing offense is unacceptable. He needed a good shaking up to get through to him that he's not untouchable.

Meanwhile, in Georgia, Mark Richt is summarily fired for having a better record than Les Miles. Where are all the people saying how Richt got the short end of the sick?
