Absolutely not. In fact, I expect it to get uglier and multiple people to quit or get fired (not referring to asst. coaches).

Their fans will make up and be united when 2016 kicks off, all wearing their "Do More With Les" t-shirts

Hopefully this shook up Les a little...

It could do the opposite. The boosters tried their power play...they lost and Les won. He might be more emboldened to just give them a big FU.

Most of them still believe the illiterate that said Jimbo was a done deal, and Spurrier wanted the job.

Nope. This is going to linger and fester. Toxic.

I think they made an announcement to stop getting dumped on by the media and stabilize recruiting. The support for Les was unreal all week and in the stadium. Shocking considering the amount of rantards in the stands. I don't think they are done working on all of this

They were supporting him because they thought it was his swan song and were giving him deserved recognition.

Most in the stadium thought he was leaving.

If Miles only wins 6 or 7 games next year, he'll be let go and all this really is just delaying the inevitable. So saying he isn't going away anytime soon is just wrong..

Agreed.

If he drops Bama (most likely), Arkansas (most likely), Ole Miss (more than likely), and perhaps Florida since they are on the rise, he's done.

I don't expect Miles to change his coaching philosophy at all. The program is stale and needs a change.

If Les has another sub-par season (by LSU standards) he is GONE.... At least the administration will have time to get a replacement and do it correctly this time.

However, if LSU all of a sudden develops a QB and gets creative offensively w play calling and wins SEC West then Les is good for a few more years. Les tried to get extension for offensive coordinator and that went nowhere.

There's B.S. talk on the local chat sites about how LSU is poised for dominance..... just has not happened w Saban and 'Bama around in SEC West along w other schools building above average programs. It's a tough situation in 2016 for Miles. We'll see how he does w his back against the wall....

LSU’s administration completely botched this, a sad state of affairs really. He has some coaching flaws no doubt, but the only person that showed class and character in this mess was Coach Miles. I also give LSU fans a lot of credit for rallying for their embattled coach. At least recruits and coaches can see the LSU fans can appreciate someone’s hard work and dedication and even accept flaws. At least those positives came out of this mess.

I thought he deserved the chance to right the ship, but I can see the arguments for change…. Just do it with some fricking class. Look at UGA they fired their coach after a 9-3 season but did it the right way. They let LSU made a mockery of themselves while they acted aggressively, yet professionally and deliberately. I envy them to tell you the truth.

Just because Miles has that type of inner strength there is a chance things may move forward in a somewhat positive fashion… but it is hardly a given.

It would appear that Rantards don't go to games.

My honest assessment is we fricked this up in pretty much every way possible.

You obviously weren't around when Curley Hallman was hired. You kids don't even understand how many ways an AD can screw up a coaching hire.

This situation could have ended up WAY worse than it did. Be thankful.

I think they're professionals.

Les is the coach. If the team isn't good next season, there's a good chance Les, Alleva, and maybe others are all out.

So I think there is joint motivation to do everything possible to win a lot of games next season. I think that's the only thing on anyone's mind.

If Alleva had come out and said, "Les Miles is our man until the end of time." and then LSU proceeds to get blown out by A&M, it would've looked bad.

You can make a public show of support of the coach and still fire him latter. It really would not have been that big of a deal. If there was a chance that Miles was going to be retained then Alleva needed to make a public showing of support to quiet the rumor mill.

Edit: as for moving on, Alleva's firing would probably be a peace offering for both sides of this fiasco.
