You can tell a thread's quality by how many times any variation of the word "honest" is used. >= 1 usually means the thread will be trash.

Hopefully this shook up Les a little and he hires an up and coming QB coach/OC and lets him do his job.

I wouldn't hold me breath waiting for it to happen. What OC in their right mind would sign up for a one year gig. We have had what 5 OC from 2005 to now. We always look the same. It's like asking a Leopard to change its spots. It just isn't in him.

Obviously there is going to be some bad blood and mistrust on Les' part knowing that his "higher ups" tried their best to get rid of him.

The optimist hopes that this whole fiasco was enough to force Les to change his whole philosophy on offense, not just the coordinator. As far as the working relationship, I think Les really enjoys coaching LSU and living in BR. No coach wants to be fired, but I think what probably hurt him the most was possibly having to uproot his family and leave a place they enjoy living.

He could hold a grudge and I doubt he will ever trust his AD again, but I think he knows putting personal angst aside is what's best for his team. That's what he'll do.

Alleva lost he is scrambling I am sure.

It will be interesting to see how they try to hamstring him with Assistant replacements

Im not sure LSU needs a new OC, Cam didnt come to LSU and just forget how to run a balanced offense. Baltimore ran him out of town because he PASSED the ball too much. I think Cam can take our skill position players and run a more diverse offense if Les will just back off and allow him to implement and run the offense.

My honest assessment is we fricked this up in pretty much every way possible.

I hope they don't make up and Les shoves a brand new NC Trophy up their asses next year out of spite.

Don't care what it takes to light the fire as long as it's lit. If it's more of the same, he's gone.

No, but Les is a pro and loves his players. The tension won't trickle down to the on-field product. It will probably impact the coordinator replacements though.

Les is on the hot seat going into 2016 and if it's like the last two years where we aren't competitive in 2-3 conference losses, then his arse is grass. We have a chance to return most of this year's team and we're almost surely bringing in a top 5 if not top 3 class this year, and we get Bama and Ole Miss at home. I'm choosing to be optimistic unless the department doesn't move forward over the next few months and this turns into a bona fide shitshow. He needs to take his hands off the offense.

No. It remains to be seen how this will all shake out.

But for the time being, the faction of boosters that wanted Les gone have been stymied.

An exciting new OC hire and a strong bowl showing would go a LONG way to mending fences.

Are you sure its not aqward?

I agree, Les even said he wanted to discuss it in the alley.

I don't think the mild mannered Les is so mild mannered behind the scenes.

I don't care if he takes Alleva lunch money daily. If they get in a pissing contest on assistants and salary we are in major trouble.

Whole thing is a shite show from top to bottom.

Les is basically a lame duck coach coasting on 8-4 seasons till he retires or is fired. He also has all the power now apparently.

The whole thing was terrible for the program and the Brand.

Not sure where we go from here.

Politics got in the way of athletics and its bullshite.

this.

I have absolutely no idea what to expect in 2016 with a lame duck Miles at the helm.

What a shitty 2 weeks.

One of his better qualities, you would never know it from him. He will be as natural as ever.

If him singing the alma mater during an interview isn't the number play of the week then it's a sham.

bad blood is probably too strong of a phrase. Miles is stubborn and has been the leader of a shite show for an offense for awhile now. he is well liked but he is paid to win and at least compete for titles. he ceased competing for titles 4 years ago and his record each year got worse, esp against top teams.

as far as "moving on with Les" there has to be a difference. the man will either be complacent about things (frick you, I won) or it will make him realize he'd better improve things.

les miles certainly will not be the only person that has to work "on probation". if his ego can't handle that, I predict a huge backlash from the money people. I was "on probation" once in my life and I guarantee you I closely examined my situation, came up with the best plan I was capable of, got input from trusted others, and then I went to work and busted my chops. it turned out to be the turning point in my career and the probation was a wake up call.

my honest assessment is that Miles will make cosmetic changes and sacrificial firing(s) and go back to doing the same ole same ole. he may be incapable of change. y'all don't have to worry; he'll come into the bama game with the same gameplan he's always had. your team won't even have to review film that week.
