Always a chance, as UF doesn't put buyout clauses in their contracts, but hopefully he stays.

Until Les came along - yup. And it may become one again after him.

Which makes me well qualified to talk about destination schools, no?

The admin and big money at Texas pretty much shafted him. I seriously, seriously doubt he wants to go back there. Mack was supposed to retire after winning the Natty in 2009 and pass the program to Muschamp beginning with the 2010 season. That was the Plan. That was what Will understood was the Deal. When UT lost to Bama after the McCoy injury and Mack didn't get to go out with a second MNC, Ego stepped into the picture and Mack took back what was supposed to be Muschamp's inheritance so that Mack could win another. Trouble is, Mack, and by extension, that Program, has never been right in the head after Bama stole their soul in California and the whole thing has been one long, slow, Bowdenesque journey to decay and embrassment. Mack won't ever get another Natty, he knows it, so now he just wants to finish with a "statement season" and go out golden, except that the sitation is just getting worse and worse and even that's eluding him. So he's getting fatter and fatter, looking more and more tired, slowly decaying like Gollum in LOTR, ever chasing his precious, and it's great to watch, because this is what he deserves. He promised Muschamp the program and screwed him over. That's a garbage thing to do to someone.

Thanks UF fans, you make a valid and very strong case he will stay pretty much no matter what.. and it makes sense. I would argue that Texas is one of a very few "better" jobs than ANY SEC job in some respects from a national level (and just to show I am trying to be unbiased, I fully recognize UF job is better in most cases than LSU job, with both being very good). However I had to think Muschamp left Texas in not great terms and UF job is a great one...

Texas will never fire Mac Brown. He will be there for a while

Don't hold your breath on this. Texas ran off DKR after he won 3 Nattys and they are absolutely incensed that A&M has taken all the momentum from them. Mack is using up the last of his 9 lives to get one more season imo.

The real problem for Texas is he won't easily be replaced. Sure, they can hire just about anyone but Texas is a tough place to coach. The expectations are through the roof but honestly Texas doesn't have some of the advantages they had a few years ago with A&M moving to the SEC and the Big 12 losing so much luster. Then you have the LHN basically making your team into a reality TV program where a coach gets to do 3 shows a week. The path to a Natty at Texas now is only realistic through an undefeated season as well because the Big 12 is unlikely to get a Top 4 Team with 1 loss going forward.

The point is they can hire a top coach but hiring the RIGHT coach is far trickier.

There are few things UTx can give Boom that UF cant match. We are in very good recruiting grounds and getting better. A better question would be, why would he leave to UF and go to UTx? His family is from that area. Even if he left Foley would find a replacement, lets be honest, he is the best AD in the SEC

Will got a raise last summer after the season, which was not made public until now. Who wouldn't like that kind of boss who trusts what you are doing, even when getting suboptimal results? Jeremy is an awesome boss. I'm pretty sure he is going to be taken care of again after the season.

If he wants to go, he will go, but I'm thinking that isn't his style. Plus he didn't like all the longhorn network chit.
I never say never, but I would be shocked if he left.

Hell No, Muschamp is not leaving for Texas nor is Saban or anyone else in the SEC.

The SEC is the premier league in college football. Texas is not everything they think they are in their own mind. Texas is a big deal in Texas but not in the SEC. Texas is in panic mode because they suck. They held on to Mack Brown too long and let the best upcoming coach in college football walk of campus and take the Florida job. I hope Will tells them to get fricked.

It would take a pussy like Urban Meyer running from the SEC competition to take that job. The men coach down here in the League baby!

Texas is in a panic because for the first time ever Texas A&M has stolen the show. The Aggies are no longer little brother to frick Boy U. Those tea sip pussies are watching little bro pass them by and outgrow them. Who gives a shite about their longhorn network.....nobody. They are out there by themselves in their shittly little conference and the Aggies are playing grown man football every week.

Texas is about to be an afterthought in that state. The recruits looking to challenge themselves against the best in the land will go to A&M not steers and queers U.

frick Texas.

It's awesome how LSU fans try to wish away competition. Saban has reduced the LSU fanbase to a bunch of barking moonbats.

Jumping from college to NFL means nothing?

Meyer left for his health. And took a job at a destination school one year later.

Meyer and Spurrier are both guilty of being greedy A-holes. As far as I can tell, Boom might actually care about something other than himself.

I'd be surprised if he left for Texas. No way that program will be nationally relevant in the coming years, especially with A&M joining the SEC and beginning to take their recruits.

Agree. My qualm was with "destination" - Boom should stay and make UF such a school.

No. Rumors are the Muschamp was supposed to be named Texas HC after the '09 championship. Texas lost against Bama, Mack stayed in power, Boom had no timetable of when he would be coach...

He's from Gainesville and got a great opportunity to get his first head coaching job at Florida. Bridges were burned when he left Texas and I doubt he would do the gladhanding, booster codding, Longhorn Network appearing BS needed to be the Texas HC. Coaches at Florida like working for Foley. Foley > Dodds
