No, I'm pretty sure ours was the greatest of all-time.

It was the value of the games, those involved, etc..

Our 22 is pretty much a shoe in for the greatest stretch in college history. I don't know about the NFL.

I'm pretty sure Boise State had a longer winning streak going prior to the Nevada game.

You have to be kidding. No way anyone could say this with a straight face.

Hog fans are in serious "fishing mode" since getting to sit at the big boy table for the first time in 30 years.

I was literally thinking about making a list of the teams that have gone on longer winning streaks since Arkansas' streak, but I probably don't have that kind of time.

This thread is so full of win from an Arkansas fans perspective.

we actually shared it with alabama...the football writer assoc voted us champions because we were only undefeated/untied team in nation...ap and upi voted bama # 1 before their bowl. bama lost their bowl to texas that year (we beat texas that year) finishing 10-1. we beat nebraska finishing 11-0. the following year ap/upi started waiting until bowls were over before voting.

Look, it is clear that Arkansas SHOULD HAVE WON both the AP and UPI in 1964. It seems like a travesty that they didn't. Therefore, I completely sympathize with the feelings of Arkansas fans in that respect.

However, I just want to point out that Arkansas fans seem to be the only fan base out there that thinks the Football Writers' Association NC is a "recognized" NC.

It isn't. Nobody gave a shite about the FWA then, and nobody gives a shite now.

It sucks that Arkansas got jobbed. But don't try to float this idea that the FWA NC somehow means something.

Wow. Take off the Red and White glasses, buddy. You're being a homer.

Again....Arkansas' streak is only the 39th best in history.

I'm not sure about that. I'm not sure exactly when other polls stopped being relevant, but it wasn't as soon as the AP poll came out, or anything like that.

You couldn't be more wrong.

What we did in that stretch is only rivaled by John Wooden's stretch at UCLA. Read more, post less.
