Baylor would be the real losers in the next expansion if it happens.
Who cares? They are a joke and have done nothing in their entire history outside of the last three years.

I'm making a statement and not arguing

As long as Boone Pickens draws breath, Oklahoma isn't going anywhere without Okie lite. Texas Tech would be the fourth, as they are a large enough public school to assuage the academic snobs who still allowed Arizona State into the conference.
The PAC 12 already has Stanford and USC as their private schools, so Baylor and TCU are completely out of the question.

Well since LSU is practically in the Big 12 right now
You're thinking of the unofficial "Big Six" within the SEC. While an expansion to twelve teams would give A&M a 50/50 shot at making the cut, at this point in time a contraction to a "Big Five" seems more appropriate.
LSU's spot is quite secure, FWIW.

Hmmm, complacency appears to be setting in.
Everything is going according to plan

The LSU AD won't allow for complacency

From Shaggy, a thread about current coaches records against top 25 teams
quote:
saban, miles, richt, urban have the records they have because the media likes to rank the mediocre sec teams like miss, vandy, miss st, for a few weeks after they beat 4 nobodies in september and then the good sec teams take them out.
stoops pads his record vs two coaches that piss down their legs when they play his team, mack brown and mike gundy.

If anything I see Oklahoma begging the SEC to let them join in a few years

For right now, there's no reason for the Big 12 to do anything other that wait for someone like Arkansas or LSU to get disgruntled where they are.
Once we're obviously in a stable long-term financial situation, we'll become a more appealing option for disgruntled teams looking to move. Our biggest selling point, IMO, is that we can offer an opportunity for more national exposure than any other league. We mainly just need OU (moreso than Texas) to prove our financial model works and for the Big 12 to win some football titles to put some shine back on our conference brand.
It would be a lot easier to sell an SEC fanbase on the Big 12 if some combo of (probably) OU and Texas ripped off 3 or 4 national titles in a short span.

I agree. LSU is comfortable being treated like $#@! by the SEC in favor of Bama, and Arky fans have unfortunately accepted their slide into bottom-tier status after leaving the SWC.
LSU is understandable, since they get a bone tossed their way every now and then, and they've got Aggy as a guaranteed win, however, it's really a shame about Arky. As said many times already, Arky would be welcomed in the B12, and it would be an instant rivalry with the Okies and a renewed rivalry with Texas.
Access to Texas recruits would boost Arky into at least mid-tier status as well. Unfortunately, we've had a full generation of people who have never witnessed a time when Arky was considered a national powerhouse.

Oklahoma is hearing about how good the SEC is from aTm. They are starting to get jealous and realizing that daddy Texas will never change no matter how hard they try.
