What does that say about LSU then since y'all quit on them?

Yeah that's why we sponsored their move to the SEC in the 90s.

Well you only won one basketball title while in the SEC, that is all that counts.

How do you keep an Aggie busy?
Write 'Please turn over' on both sides of a piece of paper

Yeah, if LSU would have had it's way, the Aggies would have been in in 92. LSU would have been their sponsors.

So that we don't have to make a thread about it, lets revisit the 92 expansion, what happened with it again? Being completely serious here

The LSU AD, Joe Dean at the time was going to sponsor Texas A&M and I believe Texas if they wanted in. The President of Texas A&M met with LSU officials a couple of times for Aggies into the SEC, but Texas politics at the time was against their move to the SEC, I think Ann Richards who was Governor at the time. Baylor was always against the Aggies move to the SEC.

Lol @ Aggie letting Baylor stop them. So will Baylor stop Texas bolting for the Pac 12 or did they stop them in the latest round of realignment?

baylor didn't do shite to keep us out of the SEC in 1992. Ann Richards got Baylor into the big 12 in 1996.

they didn't keep us from moving into the SEC in 2011 so I doubt it

So basically Texas isn't going to be apart of anything they can't control. It amazes me how OU and everyone buys into this crap

Wow!!! The big 12 don't want to see LSU. LSU on the other hand, would benefit dramatically by being in the National Title hunt every year with a perfect record. Our fans would travel, but Lubbock and Iowa St. in late winter are not fun. Funny thing is, we'd still be meeting up with an SEC west opponent every year in the playoffs. I say let's do it.

It was a whole lot more than that. The Legislature basically threatened to take the entire PUF from both schools if they moved. At the time, it was stacked with Baylor and Texas Tech graduates (the Lieutenant Governor, Bob Bullock, the most powerful man in the state had a degree from both schools).

The reason A&M was allowed to leave in 2011 was a combination of factors:

1. The legislature was out of session.

2. Governor Perry was not about to call the legislature into an emergency session.

3. Texas arrogance in stating basically that TCU was an "upgrade" over A&M because, after all, the only ones who care about A&M live in a "Sliver down the east side of Texas"

4. The complete failure of Texas and Oklahoma to get accepted anywhere during the realignment saga.

5. Much larger Aggie representation in the legislature than in 1992. Interestingly enough, almost all of the Aggie politicians who attempted to scuttle the move were voted out of office in 2012.

So if the Pac 12 wants to go to 16, we know that Texas and OU are going but what other 2 would they take? I know Kansas would go to the B1G but somebody is getting left out and we aint taking em so.....

Baylor would be the real losers in the next expansion if it happens.
