I WISH LSU could pursue another conference affiliation but I would not even consider the BIg 12 with Texass and its LHN dealio. BUT, now with SECN $$$ getting ready to flow into all our schools, there is no way we would even think such.
I do not hate all SEC teams/fans, but I despise the cabal that runs this conference.

the point of the thread...
was to point how desperate and delusional the Big 12 and Texas fans still are.
it isn't a knock on LSU or Arkansas so lighten up francis.

I mean let's be honest here on the OU thing. The SEC already has 6 of the top 15 teams of all time.
In no particular order
1. Alabama
2. Auburn
3. Florida
4. Georgia
5. LSU
6. Tennessee
7. Michigan
8. Nebraska
9. Ohio State
10 Penn State
11 Notre Dame
12 Oklahoma
13 Texas
14 USC
15 Florida State
The Big 10 is pretty close with 4, but no one else has more than 2. What does another powerhouse program actually add to the SEC?
I'll take TV markets/Whipping boys for $200 Alex.

But then again, the B1G took Nebraska.
Yup, and in retrospect it is obvious why. Nebraska allowed the B1G to go deep into the NYC and DC markets with their best brands without having a western division that was complete shite.
That is OU's real problem- geography. The SEC doesn't need another west team. It needs two east coast teams so Mizzou can move to their natural place in the west.
Maybe one day if al a carte cable is forced by some court the conference network model will fall and you will need brands to sell a product to just football fans. But until that court case hits OU isn't worth the geography nightmare they would cause.

If ESPN hadn't fricked us and let the ACC collapse the SEC would have been fine. DMV and N.C. markets would have been shored up, but the whiny basketball fricks wouldn't let the damn conference die. Frick you Dick Vitale

The teams that you would think are most likely to leave the SEC because they are unhappy....happen to be teams who have accepted their lot in life. That lot in life is to either be $#@!ty, or to live in Bama's shadow, knowing that SEC leadership will always favor Bama over them.
They also know that when Bama stumbles, they will get their shot. More than a few non-Bama fans in the SEC were laughing their asses off at Bama getting anally violated by Bob Stoops and Co.

Thank god you chimed in. I read 11 pages deep with my head almost exploding seeing two sides of an argument with neither ever stating their argument in a very cogent manner.
You said it perfectly.

Quite.
Funny thing is despite having a bigger legacy, Bama has a smaller shadow than Texas because unlike Texas they play nice with others.

If you expand the list to top 20, it looks like this:
By total wins:
Big Ten - #1, #4, #5, #12
Big 12 - #2, #6, #14
SEC - #7, #8, #10, #11, #13, #17
PAC 12 - #9, #20
ACC - #15, #16, #18, #19
If you expand to 25, the SEC adds #21 and #22, the ACC adds #23, and the PAC 12 adds #24. The next Big 12 school doesn't come into play until #43, where the wikipedia entry stops.
