Frazier is going to look shitty all season bc he's built for Malzahn's offense.

Now he's the starting QB for a completely different offense that he's not well suited for.

Malzahn ran his offense with Chris Todd who couldn't run away from a stationary object. Obviously his offense ended up fitting Cam and his skill set very well...but I think that is Cam more than it is Malzahn. As for Loeffler's offense, his QB's ran for 700 yards last season...so it's not like it's 100% pro-style. KF's skills fit the offense just fine...he just needs to be more accurate.

State QB will slice up the AU secondary and especially little short passes, and screens on the AU linebackers. That will be the difference.

maybe...but if he does, it will be, I'm pretty sure, the first time he has performed well against a decent team. I've never seen him do anything but choke against decent+ competition.

You seem convinced auburn is better this year. I have not seen it

Well, most everyone else has. On paper, Auburn should be better everywhere but RB...and maybe LB. Jury is still out on the new coordinators. Auburn was well within reach of beating Clemson after taking a second half arse whipping last year. Yeah, yeah....they didn't have Sammy Watkins or Dwayne whatshisface...they DID have Andre Ellington, Tajh Boyd and Nook Hopkins and they all went beast mode.

Clemson was clearly not as good as they were last year and still beat you.

clearly? Maybe...and they barely beat Auburn. Came down to the last drive. Versus last year where it was not close.

I don't think auburn will score over 13 points. I think Mullen is way better than Chizik

One has a national championship and even with a crappy team last year, beat 4 SEC teams not named Ole Miss. The other has never beaten an SEC team not named Ole Miss.

The more I study this game the more I think auburn gets grind-ed to a pulp.

nor do I see them getting after Russell as effectively as State will get after Frazier

Wrong. Auburn would have had 7 sacks against a better offensive line and more balanced team had it not been for Boyd's excellent mobility. They had 4. Russell is going to get handed his own arse by Ford and Lemonier. The 2 new OT's did an excellent job of protecting KF.

And no, that's not what I was looking for. I offered the premise (which may or may not be correct, but was in my opinion) that in order to at least be the better team on paper, MSU would have to have improved more than Auburn improved. I really wanted a non-State poster...especially one of the dozens that is picking State in this game, to explain why they think State will be more improved than Auburn this year over last. Because I just don't see it.

I've heard these arguments go back and forth but not address a pretty damn important detail. Why is state going to be better??

What is pretty much a consensus in the board: Auburn is better, than the awful pile of flaming dogshit from last year...maybe won't have a better W/L record to show for it, but better.

Obviously, you can't tell anything from State's first game against Western Cornfield Tech State A&M...so what based on what we know says State will improve more than Auburn, who won last year?

They lost their QB who consistently beat out the new QB for the job. Lost a very, very good running back. Replace 3 offensive lineman (with guys that aren't nearly as highly touted as Auburn's new OLinemen). Lost how many defensive players to the NFL? Many of their returning players on D are excellent...but they had them last year. How much better can they be? Decent WR core with great senior leadership should have a very productive season. The only arrow that points North for me about MSU is Q. And will he be better as a true freshman than his predecessor that is now in the NFL.

I'm trying my best here to be objective and I just don't see it. Of course they could win. But when I put it all out on paper, I just don't see how you pick State to win...particularly doing so like it's obvious.

Bump Bump, bump it up! Now do you fricking know why?
