Honestly, I can't think of a unit that is worse this year, besides maybe runningback, but it's definitely deeper. Everything is deeper.

receivers are definitely better
lbs are definitely better
secondary definitely better
quarterback definitely better

Seriously.. I just read this blather. All that rambling and not one mention of a coach? We have better coaches and haven't had any turnover in that area. Chizik is worthless without Cam and Malzahn.

All that being said, Auburn won last year. Upgraded DC and I suppose we can assume downgraded at OC. So why is State going to be better?

This.

Dline may take a step back due to losing Cox, but we added the best Juco DE in the nation, and have a lot of 4* and 5* talent in the 2 deep.

Oline is better also we just can't afford any injuries.

And Russell will end up being much better than Relf..reason he couldn't beat out Relf was because of experience and Relf was more mobile. Russell is a much better passer.

Listen, I don't have enough time before Saturday to explain why we are better than you.

Take solace in the fact that this is a rivalry game, and because of that, you might be able to pull off the upset.

Well, I'm with you that the WR's are going to be better because they have another year under their belt. Auburn can say that about every single unit. So that's a wash. Where is State taking a step back? RB. Deeper, but there is no Vick Ballard on that roster. Auburn same scenario. But I don't know, losing one 5* guy and gaining 2 four* top 15* RB's I think AU moved forward more than State. State is replacing 4 O Linemen with 2* and 3* guys. Auburn is replacing 2 OL starters with a top 5 OT and a top 10 OT, both of which looked great in their debut against an actual opponent. Auburn replaces a crappy QB with a 5* guy that has a lot of growing up to do. MSU replaces a guy that kept beating out the new guy for the starting job...highly touted guy but has been pretty damn average in games against real competition.

I don't know man. I just don't see it. To me, if the game was played on paper, I think State loses by a couple of TD's. Luckily for you, it isn't...and State may win.

Seriously...a lot of posters from non Auburn, non MSU fans have picked state in this game. Some like it is a given. Auburn won last year and most everyone is acknowledging that Auburn appears to have improved. So wouldn't logic dictate that State would have to improve more than Auburn to be the favorite? If you believe so (and aren't a state fan), tell me why?

The last two games have been close as state fans love to point out, that comes down to coaching.

Everything in your argument is subjective. Stars and rankings don't mean shite. Although you may have a better O-Line, our guys are experienced. I would still take our RB corps over yours. It's all just a matter of opinion and you just so happen to wear the AU next to your name so of course you think your team is going to win.

The reason Russell didn't start in front of Relf is because of the offensive scheme we ran. Do you honestly think a pocket passer would do well in a run first/option attack? The answer is no, we are better than you on Offense because our O-Line has experience. Our QB is in a scheme that fits him perfectly. Our wide receivers are extremely experience and have great chemistry developed with Russell over the summer. And our we have 4 RB's that are so good, that a starter cannot be chosen (Perkins will get the nod). I hope this is a good enough explanation.

I thought this was all about where are we gonna be better than we were last year. We don't have ballard, but we have perkins who played a lot the last two years and we have three rb's that are more athletic than ballard. One with some experience. Two with redshirts. And you seem to be basing a lot of stuff on stars. I am not. I am using what I have seen these players do.

I am really looking forward to Auburn Vs. STATE on Saturday! I love to see the hate and vitriol they have for each other. I am still picking Auburn to win...

Seriously, other than State fans very biased "I'd take our running backs over yours", statements, not one non-MSU poster has shown up to back up their reasoning that State should win. You know why? Because State may be better this year, but there is nothing to indicate that they will take a bigger step forward than Auburn which is the premise here. State needs to take a bigger step forward than Auburn to win...and I just don't think they do.

Really? I have clvery few if any non Au fans state that they think Au is better this year. After game 1 Au doesn't look 1 bit better on defense and Qb is a huge? Still.

I think Au has the ability to beat state and hopefully will but after the Clemson game I have serious doubts, the game is on the roads and State is calling this their Superbowl but it all comes down making plays when it counts and I don't think the new Qb for Au can on the road for his first SEC game. It should be a really good close game that can go either way.

They lost their QB who consistently beat out the new QB for the job

He is a much much better passer than Relf. Relf was given the job because he was a senior and the offense was more suited to him, now the offense is more suited to Russell

Lost a very, very good running back

He was good but we are 4 deep at RB and all of them have the potential to be better than Vick Ballard

quote:

Replace 3 offensive lineman

We upgrade at RT with Siddoway stay the same at left tackle and upgrade at C

Lost how many defensive players to the NFL?

2 I think and gained some very good juco players and some guys have really progressed from last year. Our defensive will be the best we've had since 99
