As much as JFF should win it barring any setbacks, I 'm sticking with "if Herschel couldn't win the Heisman as a Freshman, then no one should", but that may be a little bit biased.

That's a real worry for a frosh and could put Mant.. Te...whatever the Linebacker for ND in the driver's seat if he makes some great plays against USC on national TV.

Different era dude. Back then it took 2yrs just to get noticed by the whole country. Now it takes 2 mins. Most college fans knew who JF after first half of Florida game. EVERYONE knew his name after they beat us. Give the damn trophy to the kid. It might even help us beat them at Kyle field next year. Heisman winners seem not to play as good after they get it. (Tebow exception.)

There are some saying that his "character" is questionable. He was arrested last summer. The BayLOL butthurt left-behinds are losing their GD minds right now on their message board. Calling him Jailhouse Johnny...

Manziel definitely deserves the award. I never thought any freshmen would win it, but with an LB as the only other possible front runner. He almost has to.
If he doesn't, the Heisman is bullshite.

Te'O has something like 11 tackles total the last 3 weeks. Not in the top 400 in TFL. He is the most overhyped media creation in CFB history.

The DUI, his affair, the de-commitment of a huge in state recruit, the failure to lock down the border in a year with tons of in state talent, the loss to Vandy, the loss to Cuse, the fact he has an OC that never played football at any level, his dumbed down coach speak during interviews... I'd say all of the above.

It is a two year process. First year is a campaign, second year is when you win it.
