Fully agree. I actually hope that he has a more vocal role there than he did here in the ambassador role. Nothing funnier than Spurrier's quips!

I will be happy if he does whatever he wants to do.

Rumor floating around he will be recruiting coordinator,

Former five-star linebacker and current Ohio State captain Raekwon McMillan....

Steve Spurrier didn't know who Raekwon McMillan was when the five-star LB visited South Carolina

quote:

"So I go to South Carolina, I walk up to coach Spurrier and say, 'What's up Coach, how are you doing?' And he said, 'What's your name again?' I was like, 'Whoa, he doesn't even know my name.' And he said, 'Are you that kid from Texas?' And I was like, 'Nah.'

"So he just walks away. He didn't even ask me my name or anything like that. After he walked away, I went to another coach and the same thing happened. They didn't even know I was on campus. So I just left."

Foley giving SOS a pardon before he leaves office. Like Obama will before he leaves office to whoever he wants. I'll take one Obama.

He just wants to chill and take off to St. Augustine on the weekends. His place at the beach is NICE. Get the golf team straightened out.

Yeah, South Carolina recruiting turned into an ultra-dumpster fire.

First part of above quote says "what's your name again" second quote says " he didn't even ask me my name"

Huh? Dumb as white boy I bet.

Cool. He's a dick, but I like him and his "assholery".

This will never work. Spurrier has been the top dog for too long. He won't be able hold his tongue. He's already speaking out of turn naming the starting QB.

Spurrier's never going to hold back. This isn't his team anymore and he doesn't know how to deal with that.

This is McElwains mistake. Its going to get ugly and Spurrier will get the benefit of the doubt and McElwain will get the blame

The thing he hates most about college football, makes sense.

This is a bad idea. A guy like Spurrier will never truly embrace a role where he is not the BMOC and he will constantly give McElwain nightmares trying to one up him. I would not like this one bit if I were him. It would be like if Saban retired at Alabama, Bama hired an up and coming coordinator to be HC, and Saban stayed on staff as a "consultant." Hell no.

So the above quote is what I wrote in this thread yesterday when the hire was first announced and here is Spurrier already running his trap today and undermining McElwain:

quote:

Talking about the quarterbacks at Florida, Spurrier seemed to drop a tidbit that hasn't been made quite official just yet. "(Luke) Del Rio seems to be the starter," Spurrier said on a teleconference call. "He is the starter now. We'll see how it all works out." Florida coach Jim McElwain hasn't yet named Del Rio the starter

Rumor is Foley asked him to apply for the job, and Spurrier said, "my resume' is in that trophy case."

And then Foley hired Urban fricken Meyer!
