I thought the reason Spurrier burned out was because of recruiting. But, oh well.

Jim better watch his back. Ole Steve is going to grab that head coaching spot if Jim slips up.

How can he be recruiting coordinator when it was said that he had stopped doing most of the recruiting at USCe?

Love the HBC, but he is a quitter. Should have coached out the season.

Few years from now he'll burn out for the third time.

This is a bad idea. A guy like Spurrier will never truly embrace a role where he is not the BMOC and he will constantly give McElwain nightmares trying to one up him. I would not like this one bit if I were him. It would be like if Saban retired at Alabama, Bama hired an up and coming coordinator to be HC, and Saban stayed on staff as a "consultant." Hell no.

Rumor is Foley asked him to apply for the job, and Spurrier said, "my resume' is in that trophy case."
