3 NCs with a few years off and an undefeated season at Utah. Most people wrote him off after Teebs and Merlins left.

He would probably have 5 NCs under his belt at 51 years old if Tebow had left and Cam was allowed to take over. Cam led a team full of crimson rejects to the ship. There's no doubt in my mind that the 2006, 2008-2010 NCs would belong to Florida.

GOAT status engaged.

He's a better coach than Saban for one big reason: Saban couldn't get it done at 2/5 places he has been the head coach at. That's 40% of gigs that saban has failed at. (MSU and Miami)

Urban hasn't failed anywhere.

Thread is about Urban Meyer. The rest is conjecture. Overruled.

Urban wants to be in conferences where winning is easy and he can dominate. See upcoming tOSU powerhouse opponents.

He's really good, but seems to not handle defeat well.

2014 National Champs had to play 2 top ranked OOC teams. He destroyed Bama and Oregon so that's was as difficult as winning 2 NC.

The greatest coaches of all time don't leave a conference because they can't hack the level of competition or the mess they've created.

Overall, I'm pretty glad he's not the coach of Alabama and never will be. There is no way in hell he could handle the job, and that pretty much says it all.

The game your team will never even sniff?

Bama lost the game. Ohio State played better and deserved to win. But if a game that literally went down to a last-second heave into the end zone is a destruction then what do you call what Bama did to your team when they played last?

Have an upvote.

And for those that don't understand my point regarding how Urbz' reacts to a loss, Google his postgame press conference after tOSU lost to Michigan State in the B 1 G championship game in '14. Dude was a zombie.

Of course, you can also reference the day after the '09 SECCG...

Saban failed at MSU? Then why did LSU hire him?

In all seriousness Urban is a great coach. He's still a notch behind Saban but last season definitely closed the gap a bit.

Fair or not he's gonna be remembered for now as having fled the SEC when Saban blew things up. Not saying that's definitely the case but perception can all too often become reality.

Putting OSU back on top was impressive. Staying at Florida and winning a couple more would have been more impressive. The Big 10 is such a joke now that he should literally win the conference every year.

Flame away...

Urban has every opportunity to pass Saban. Its hard to dispute either really.

That said, Urban took over a top 5 program that needed zero rebuilding and has had zero competition from within the conference.
