That would be wrong. Also Auburn/Georgia. That is old fashioned hate for sure.

Why would we want to do that?

Alabama has won 9 in a row, about to be 10.
So far as I know, UT hasn't forfeited any games to Bammer.
Last year's game wasn't too bad. There have been some others, like the worst loss Bammer ever had at Legion Field 41-14.
And 1985:
16-14
This is just another 'troll UT thread' over an issue you didn't have any interest in until all the hype UT got over the off-season

Anyone notice that the fans who want that cross division rivalries gone are mostly A&M, Mizzou, and Arkansas?
These newcomers don't respect the roots of the SEC.

I have suggested this before too. This is the best solution.
You wanna frick around with somebody not in your division and not on the SEC schedule? Fine. It's considered an OOC.
That would change nothing for the hangers on, but would allow the rest of us to make the circuit more frequently.
Resistance to this change makes no sense and I have yet to hear one serious argument against it.

What about Tenn-Bama and Auburn-Georgia as OOC games?
You still get the SEC tradition, but other conference mates get to meet up more frequently.

I believe it is currently against SEC rules to play another SEC team in an OOC game.

In UGA's case, our very serious argument is that we'd rather continue with the status quo because that is what's best for UGA. This includes playing AU and GT yearly, playing UF at a neutral site, and still being able to play other OOC power 5 teams on occasion (Clemson, ND, etc.).

No, newboy. You have no idea what you're talking about.
Bama won 9 straight from 86-94.
UT won 7 straight from 95-01
It's a streaky series. But these are the two best programs in the SEC historically. It was a two team league for a long time. It would be like ending Ohio State-Michigan after OSU won a few in a row

No, no and no. Here we go.
The Bama-UT and UGA-AU games are generally amoung the most watched conference games of the year. I know last year both did well.
Second, for the first 100 years of SEC football these 4 teams dominated it. It's not our fault everybody else was average or sucked until division splits.
Border wars-Only in-state or border wars are truly rivalries. Schools six hours away, 8 hours away? Please.
Non Conference game? These 2 games are to be played as CONFERENCE games and conference only. Yea, we beat UT but it doesn't matter. That's utter ignorance and bullshite.
It may mean nothing to you and another school that begs us to be rivals to try to validate their first 100 years of irrelevance but it does to us. Tennessee, Bama, UGA, Auburn have been battling each other since day one. None of the 4 are Johnny come lately's. Even though the games haven't been great at times, BDS and Neyland were electric every single time as I'm sure JHS and Sanford were.
Last year, the environment in BDS was the best I'd seen in years. Like my bro in law said walking out.."it feels like the 3rd Saturday again"
Get LSU or Arkie and go make your own rivalry. We wont question you or try to get you to stop playing it. Play it every year as long as you want even if you are in different divisions. THis is why Bama and Aubie need to move east. That's where our real rivals are and yall can quit your bitching.
Oh, and I don't buy the crybaby "oh we don't get to play so and so but every so and so years" That's hollow as hell. You REALLY care that you don't play Georgia often, or Vandy?? frickin stupid, lame arse excuse. Most people are against it for no reason than we want it. period.

Not a damn thing will be done. It is fun watching LSU fans and others bitch about it though.

Pretty sure L5U has no room to talk about a one sided series
