But, if 9 games can't get the support, is it really that important to keep playing Tennessee?

Yes.

That's a game that even fewer people give a frick about. You're making my case for me.

Except for the arse ton of real SEC school's fan bases who care about this due to the historical nature of how the game helps decide the East or West.

Right. That would explain why 3 of the first 10 responses in this thread pointed out the fact that Georgia vs. Auburn is a big deal as far as cross-divisional rivalries go.

It's the most-played rivalry in all of college football among Elite programs. Total meetings:

119- Georgia vs. Auburn
112- Michigan vs. Ohio State
110- Texas vs. Oklahoma

No other rivalry among elite programs (Top 16) has produced more than 100 meetings. The Third Saturday in October is at 98 total meetings.

The fact that two programs as major as Georgia and Auburn are have met 119 times makes it a big deal. I would expect an Aggie not to know his SEC history though.

from 95-06 we had 7 straight, 9/10, and 10/12

Last year the game was decided in the final minute

All of you can suck our nuts

But, now is the best time to end it if it's gonna end, because nobody really gives a frick about that matchup right now.

You didn't hear Bama fans wanting it gone when we were beating them in the 90s/00s

Did the administrators for Auburn and Georgia vote YES on a 9-game schedule?

If not, I have no sympathy. It's an irrelevant game and it should go the way of the dodo.

But that's the thing. We don't care about what any of ya'll think. And there's nothing you can do about getting rid of it. So...

Not as irrelevant as the Texas A&M program. One Top 5 finish in the past 59 seasons. Why the heck did we let you into the SEC again?

Every game UT plays has lost its appeal.

Someone posted TV ratings numbers from all SEC games last season a week or two ago. The TSIO was the third or fourth highest-rated conference game from last year. So to answer your question, no, apparently the game has not lost its appeal.

Texas A&M beat Texas 10 out of 11 years from 1984-1994. Did Aggy fans consider Texas not to be a big rival because they beat them all the time?

Easy. Money, Texas recruits, and free blow jobs.

No. We have to play GT too and need some scheduling flexibility. The status quo is the best of both worlds for us.

Make the game a non-conference game except for the years they play as part of the SEC rotation if they insist on playing every year.
