I think Saban has skewed reality, but more than one national championship for a coach is a pretty rare thing.

How many nattys does Richt have?
Zero. Thanks for asking. Richt can't hold Spurrier's jock strap. Now back to my question.

Probably a lot of truth to this.

Yes, he's done very well against the Little Sister of the Poor. But given his ability, does he belong on college football's Mount Rushmore?

WTF are you talking a/b? "Given his ability" he's already recognized as a Hall of Famer. One of the all-time winningest coaches in history. Coaches have positive and negatives, they're human beings. Acting like b/c Spurrier is wired differently and doesn't make recruiting his #1 priority that he's somehow underachieving is missing the point. What if he devoted his last 5 yrs to recruiting like crazy and all of a sudden he started being less prepared for games?
The guy works hard, period. He doesn't work hard like you think he should work, but he didn't get to where he is by goofing off.

Yes. Saban and Malzahn would win multiple SEC Championships at SC and maybe a Natty for Saban. SC has enough money and support they just need a coach that is not past their prime and actually likes to recruit. Spurrier has built a great foundation though.

If it wasn't for a mulligan, Steve Spurrier would be another Richt with a better record.
But South Carolina and lots of meaningless SEC titles amirite?

Irony is rich in that one.

I friggin love the HBC. I'm sure he gambles on his own games. Also, he gives absolutely zero fricks. I mean zero.

If he was at UF for all those 22 years and had those numbers I would say he underachieved, but given the circumstances I think he has done an elite job at both stops.

What's wrong with having an anime avatar?

Methinks you don't know what "underachieve" means.

He has done what no other coach has been able to do at SC and he's doing it when the SEC has never been stronger and he has to recruit against Clemson, Georgia, Tennessee, Bama, Auburn, Florida, UNC, etc.
That to me, sounds like overachieving.
