Man does Nathan Stanley really suck that bad now?
He's ok, he's just not quite mobile enough to survive behind our young OL.

I thought you guys were saying last year that he was going to be the next big thing in the SEC?
I seriously doubt anyone here ever said this. He has some potential, however.

He was reaching hoping someone would agree so he could call Hootie a QB killer

When in fact, the Qb was the only one that did shite when we played in Fayeteville. How ironic...

I apologize. I didn't mean "you guys" as in you Ole Miss posters on the rant specifically. I just joined last week so that's obviously not the case. I mean Ole Miss fans that I have interacted with in other places whether it be guys that I work with here in Atlanta or on Rivals or Nafoom. All I heard all offseason was that Stanley was going to be big time. Just curious as to why everyone is assuming he won't start now and Mackey will.

Who says he can't be "big time" but Mackey can't be "bigger time"? Not saying it's the case, but you asked the question as a semi-flame, when apparently you don't know a thing about the situation...

Because Mackey is mobile and our Oline sucks

I will choose my wording better next time for you because I didn't mean it as a flame.
You're still not answering my question though. What has Mackey done that makes everyone suddenly assume that he will be the starter?

He can run

Honestly, nobody knows who will. I don't go up to Oxford to watch practices and ask Nutt about next year, and I doubt any other OM fans are either. Most people are assuming this because, while Stanley is pretty good in the pocket, many are unsure about his mobility. After watching our line this year, this forces me to think that a more mobile Mackey would be a better fit, and he looks pretty good passing it as well. Not saying our line won't be better next year, it can only improve, but would it be enough to protect Stanley? I have no clue, I guess that's why I am on a message board and not getting payed too much money to coach a bunch of kids...

Thanks for the response. I thought it was injuries that were hurting the interior of the Oline? Will there be anybody back next year to fill the talent level?
I saw Stanley play in person back when we were recruiting him and he had a big time arm. He seemed like he would be a really good QB one day so I would definitely like to see him get a chance. Hell, I figured he would be playing QB at Arkansas right now when I was at that game.

Yes, but I still don't think they will be that good. Improved, but not great.

Well it looks like you guys have a couple of studs coming in next year it looks like so 2012 should be a big year when these guys now are upperclassmen with that talent backing them up.

We have had some good classes lately. Hopefully things will all pan out in the future. The SEC West isn't getting any easier...

Not at all. As of today all 6 of the SEC West schools are in the top 23 of Rivals recruiting rankings.
I know recruiting rankings aren't the end all, be all of how you are going to do on that field but that is just ridiculous. No other division, much less conference, has to go up against that kind of talent each week.

I'd say neither.
We knew he wasn't going to be as good as he was at Oregon, He's been a lot better than Jevan Snead was last year.
