He had no knowledge in the proper use of lethal chemicals that could have easily entered the water table.

quote:

I have hurt the University of Alabama. That's the last thing I wanted to do. It started out as a prank. And they're talking about putting me in prison for poisoning the water table.

And the following quote shows how ignorant this self-professed too full of Bama fan is:
quote:

I don't think I'll ever go to another Alabama game. People recognize me in Louisiana. Guy walked over to us and said, 'You're Al from Dadeville.' I didn't have anything Alabama on.

Note that this occurred prior to the courts allowing him to leave the State of Alabama while on bail, so the Alabama Superfan just incriminated himself with that comment.

It's still just some trees. Pay a fine, do a few days in the county and then back out for football season.

It's still trees. He poisoned TREES. Nobody deserves to go to prison for poisoning a couple trees. If he had actually hurt someone in the process that would be one thing, but we are talking about trees here. Should he be punished? Yeah sure. But prison is a bit extreme

It's not like he crop dusted your campus. Fertilizers and poison run off into sewers and retention ponds all the time. You are vastly overstating what he did if you are gonna bring that up.

please, keep up the defense of updyke from the updykes....

so if someone was to poison the soil all in the quad where grass couldn't grow then you would not want the person to go to jail?

It's not something that a person should go to prison over. It's a goddamn tree!

He probably will end up going to jail, if not to just send a message to all the crazy mother frickers of the state.

He probably will. And it's completely retarded that a man will end up in prison for poisoning a tree.

If he ended up in jail for a legit reason then I wouldn't be so bothered. I will not defend what the dumbass did, but this whole thing has been blown out of proportion

No. I am completely sober tonight. I just find it sick and disturbing that people are wanting to send a guy to prison for something so fricking stupid.
