I think this thread says a lot about Ole Miss, that y'all expect these sorts of things out of us and not, say, Kentucky or Mississippi State.

Good to see that y'all are starting to get it.

Oh, and OM v. Bama this year. Mark it down, it's gonna happen.

We almost had it in 2000, though.

Yeah, we don't even have that excuse. We almost had it in 2000, though.

We almost had it for the 2003 LSU-OM game. But almost don't count.

Set up the stage on University with the Grove as the backdrop. No way ESPN is coming to Oxford and not focus on the Grove. Stage is too big for the Union or the stage in the Grove.

When Gameday comes to Oxford this year they will set up in front of the Student Union with the Grove and The Walk of Champions behind the desk.

Alabama can't hold a candle against a bird fart to the tailgating scene at Ole Miss.
Meh, give me the Quad over the Grove any day.

Week 6 they host Bama. Both teams should be unbeaten. Bama will probably be ranked #2, Ole Miss is at 18 to start and could be in the top 15 by then. Looking at that week's list of games, I think they could be there for that game.

That's exciting. Been thinking about going to the Ole Miss game this year. I want to start going to at least one away game a year, till I see them all.

You should. It's worth it to see the venues. Being in the visiting team fan base at another team's house is something to experience, especially in a big game. My first away game was UT '99. Walking into that stadium and seeing the sea of orange for the first time was intimidating and impressive. I think that is where Tubs got the idea to make Auburn all-orange for home games. Looks great on tv too.

Ole Miss miss has been my favorite road game so far by a lot.

It helped the experience that LSU won that night and the butthurt was so bad.

So bad.

Is there space on the grove for gameday to set up. The set takes up a lot of space. The grove is always very crowded. Ole miss, where would you expect gameday to set up?

I've thought about this, and I've come up with a creative and good idea. The main crew would be on the Square, and they'll block it off like they do Double Decker, with the stage being on South Lamar looking onto the Courthouse. The satellite crew will be in the Grove on the stage, which should divide the crowds pretty well.

I know many think by the Student Union, but you wouldn't really get a good view from there, and the stage doesn't have enough space with all the tents that are nearby. You get the best of both worlds with this scenario.

It takes up a lot of room. My guess is they'd do it elsewhere on campus. Idk where the hell they'd put it on the grove. That mofo is dense with tents.

Yeah, I don't think many of our fans realize how fricking packed it gets. No fricking way could we fit everyone in front of the Grove stage, and in order to do it in front of the student union (which is the biggest blight on our campus), it would probably be too far away from the Grove to really see it in all of its glory. If you split up the crowds between the Square and the Grove, then you could get the bird's eye view of the Grove.
