As Georgia has shown there is a big upside to having more than one great back especially with Gurley recovering.

I'm being perfectly serious here. I wish he had gone some place other than the Rams because that OL just sucks.

I wanted to see what he could do on an actual good team.

A lot of Ram fans didn't like the pick, and I understand why but Rams got great value. He's a very special player. The knee, yes, but he's not there at 10 if that's not an issue.

Didn't hurt that both their OL targets were off the board.

And Arkansas has shown what an offense looks like when both of them actually stay healthy. McFadden and Jones were unstoppable. JWill and AC3 following in their footsteps.

Robinson struggled early on in the season but he came on big time towards the end and showed flashes of brilliance. He has the makings of an all pro LT

I think that's how a RB can have value in the top 10 if he can create a running game despite a below average OL.

Since it looks like Mason is there to stay, I think this works out well for Gurley. He won't be run into the ground like he would with other teams with no RB depth. I think Mason/Gurley will compliment each other well. Both are capable of creating running room in small gaps.

Jeff Fisher has a proven track record with stud RBs. I think Gurley is going to do fine in St. Louis.

Keep in mind Steven Jackson (in his prime of course) churned out 1000+ yard seasons from 2005 - 2012 on some of the worst offensive teams you'll ever see.

Fisher only coached Jackson in 2012

Me, too. I was hoping that he would go somewhere that their missing piece for success was a RB...many pieces are still needed for the Rams. He will do well wherever he goes...but I would have preferred to see him go somewhere else.

Seems like the Rams are bucking the trend of spread O's, and going to a traditional ground and pound. Interesting.

BULL! 2008 Cotton Bowl. Mizzou 38-7 over the piglets. A Missouri RB set the Cotton Bowl rushing record that day. McFadden and the piglets...a no show.

Exactly. Mason proved his worth last season with a VERY solid year. Tehy will compliment each other very well if Gurley stays healthy.

Got to pick up Mason in fantasy football. Looks like Gurley might cover the Injury Reserve position.

Might want to put that in context before you buy your Super Bowl ring. Nutt wasn't a great coach by any definition, but he was much better than Reggie Herring. Also since he was a rah rah type players coach and they had already played the "win one for the Gipper" card at LSU just about any team would have beaten us that day. Never mind that you were super motivated to prove something after the Kansas screw job...

If it was August I would agree, but it's May. The Rams still have the rest of the draft and several free agents to pick from to make the OLine serviceable. If all you have to do is run block it becomes even less of an issue.
