From the Tulane website.

TOPS is a scholarship program funded by the state of Louisiana. Students who have been Louisiana residents for at least two years and have graduated from a Louisiana high school are eligible to apply for TOPS. The maximum award at Tulane is the average Louisiana public college tuition and may include a stipend for students with higher grade point averages and/or ACT scores

That still leaves someone having to pay about $40,000 a year for tuition.

Bill Battle is the AD. For the right man he will pay what it takes.
They have a brand new field and have to put butts in the seats.

This doesn't come anywhere close to covering Tulane's tuition of about $43,000.

It helps when one adds in academic money and athletic money. Especially in a sport only allowed to award 11.7 scholarships per hear between 27 players.

Lotteries still suck, though, and I don't want one in Alabama.

Well then if that happens I would think we lose Cannizaro to Tulane

I don't think CAC is ready for that step. I also don't think he would be TU's first choice; but you never know.

hearing the Texas committee likes Pierce, but in true Texas fashion they want someone who has already won a national title....which might mean the UCLA coach is the next one called in for an interview.

And FYI I think Pierce would be a slam dunk hire. He's a great great coach. Rice would try jump on him immediately when Graham leaves.

Seriously? I mean, I'm the biggest Bama fan around but that would be stupid move. Tulane is better baseball job. Bama has no chance to compete. He's built a nice little program there and has a great advantage with the lotto schollies. Coming to Bama would be a career killer. Just telling it like it is. I don't figure Bama can do much better than an asst coach already in Alabama working with schollie reductions.
I think he'll re-think this one. We end up with somebody from Jax State or an asst at South Alabama or something.
