but i agree with his point that Griffin won't do as well in the NFL. He'll probably turn into a receiver & people will look back at the 2011 Heisman & wonder how he got the award over Richardson, Luck & Mathieu.

Too bad none of this matters...

Look at Troy Smith, Chris Weinke, Ron Dayne, etc...

RG3 led Baylor to their winningest season since 1986.

With a chance to lead Baylor to their second double digit win season all-time.

Does that not qualify for a successful season?

I'm not a big MLB baseball fan so I don't know everything about it. But I listened to an interview with a MVP voter. He voted for a guy named Braun, I think, from the Brewers. He went on to talk about everything good that Braun did this season. Then he was asked if Braun was the best player. The guy said no he isn't. Some guy from the Dodgers is. So why didn't he vote for the Dodgers player? He said because the Dodgers were a bad team and if you want to win the MVP then you have to help your team to a successful season.

I am cool with that reasoning, the award is called the Most Valuable Player after all. The Heisman is supposed to go to the best player in football.

At Baylor I suppose.

At Bama, Auburn, LSU, Texas, USC, etc., no. Not at all.

Numbers don't decide the Heisman, Ball never had a Heisman moment.

To say he'll become a WR is about as ignorant as saying Luck will be a TE or Richardson will be a FB in the NFL. Nothing about RG3's game says he could be a WR. He's big, black, and has a nice timed speed, but it takes a lot more than that to be a WR.

I have as much evidence that Luck, T-Rich, and TM7 will fail in the NFL as you do for RG3, zero. I mean I can come up with opinions to why they will all fail, but I have no proof to back it...

forget the numbers and forget the heisman moment... if you've seen the two play & it isn't obvious that Trent is better then you know nothing about football, sorry. (this does NOT mean that I don't think Ball is a great back)

It is an individual award but everybody and their brother says it's a team award. You cant win a heisman by yourself. If RG had the same stats and his team went 6-6, would he have even been invited to NY?

The Heisman isn't above giving the award to someone on a .500 or a losing team. After all, they've done it before...

Did Tim Tebow deserve to win the heisman?

Tim Tebow won it at Florida when they went 9-4.
Ricky Williams won it at Texas when they went 9-3.
Bo Jackson won it at Auburn when they went 8-4.
George Rogers won it at South Carolina when they went 8-4.
Marcus Allen won it at USC when they went 9-3.
Jim Plunkett won it at Stanford when they went 9-3.
Steve Owens won it at Oklahoma when they went 6-4.

Your right, he should be like all the other players when they get on the media and pretend to be humble.

He is one of the few players that is actually well spoken and seems to be a nice guy.

I agree with this. He is very well spoken kid and sounds very intelligent. I want tTR to win but I know he's not going to so I wish this guy the best.

So let me get this straight....your argument is that RGIII's team isnt good enough (nevermind the fact that mainly because of him he has done the equilivent of taking Mississippi state or Kentucky and going 9-3 beating LSU and bama) and that Trent should win it because his team is better? Well in that case there is a finalist whos team is undefeated I guess he should win no?

He beat Ball out of the Doak didn't he? Ball wouldn't have half those numbers if he played on Bama because we have a very limited passing game.

I know it's SEC d's vs. Big10 but still

That right there is why he's not finishing ahead of TR. TR had to face 8-9 in the box on just about every play and he still managed to put up the best numbers in the SEC.

BTW, I think RG3 will win but TR will come in 2nd or 3rd IMO.

'56.

Hornung, despite Notre Dame going 2-8, showed the nation he was a 1 man team. Result, he was awarded the Heisman.

That's how it should be, obviously players nowadays have to do a little more because they are asked to do a little less position wise than Hornung. No one is gonna play QB/RB/WR/KR/PR/K/P all in the same season anymore...
