Not really, he couldn't play til mid season anyways. I thought this may happen especially after Franks signed.

Finally got a half decent QB since Tebow left, and he offs himself from the team by choosing to use roids.

Oh well.

So with the suspension he still only has to sit out next year and can play in 2017?

Hearing what he tested positive for didn't sit well with the coaches. Mac just let with Grier this week which means they probably couldn't work something out.

Oh well...

Auburn got a good QB. :-)

He will still have to serve the suspension after sitting out the year.

The earliest he will be eligible is by the 7th game of 2017.

If Grier transfers won't that sit him for 18 months including the 6 for the suspension?

Yes.

EDIT: Full year sitting out due to transfer, then 6 game suspension.

He can't transfer immediately to another SEC school. I think there is an SEC rule that doesn't allow transfers from other schools if they are suspended by original school at the time of transfer.

Yep.

He redshirted when he arrived on campus due to injury issues and ironically "improving his body"

Then I don't understand why he's transferring. That'd make it to where middle of junior year before he is able to play I think... ???
