Think about it.. Marshall was Mizzou's obvious first choice. He turned them down, because a much more prestigious job opened up at LSU. With the amount of talent and resources down here, he'll end up winning a championship before this is all over.

You're going to hire some mid major scrub for 1.5M per.

LSU is gonna hire some mid major for low money after making some decent names tell them no. It'll be a coin flip, and complete blind arse luck, if the coach turns out to be decent. That dumb decision is mutually exclusive from the dumb decision Mizzou made today, though. They both have hack-AD's making hack moves.

LSU is too cheap to pay Marshall what it would take to get him and he wouldn't come anyway.

i thought musselman to LSU would be a good choice, especially with him already working there in past.

Marshall is a pipe dream for everyone but kentucky in SEC.

Guy can pick and choose his next gig. And while waiting he is getting paid nicely at Wichita st.

But our dumb decision is going to immediately assemble a top 5 class.

I like our situation better.

Oh, I agree with you. The tenure is really what stood out to me as odd. 7 years? I'll be interested to see the buyout specifics. They're gonna have to be in Mizzou's favor, unless CM has the greatest agent in the history of the game.

Also - is there really a Bama fan in here talking shite about someone not having the money to land Marshall, after we saw that exact scenario play out a couple years ago at Alabama with Greg Marshall? This place is entertaining as all hell. You guys are great.

I'm all for bringing back Brady with Gottfried and Stansbury on the bench. I wonder what Cliff Ellis is up to, cause there's one more spot on my theoretical bench.

I've been telling these idiots around here this about Marshall and all the rumors about him. The guy OWNS WSU and the town. He could probably shoot the WSU president and walk away. Honestly, I'm not sure he'd take ANY HC gig somewhere else. How many guys have you seen leave their cushy job and follow their ego to a blue blood school where the expectations and pressure are sky high...only to not be able to make the right people happy and get kicked to the curb. I take Marshall as a pretty smart guy who knows when he has it made.

Greg Marshall doesn't own WSU. Charles and David Koch own WSU and they own Greg Marshall. He's got the best off-contract fringe benefits in college basketball because of the Koch Bros.

Marshall should take the LSU job if he had any guts, but I think he's content making the tournament every year against shite competition.

He could win big at LSU, not sure he has the balls to take a big-time job though.
