1981 Northwestern

Had a sweet 34 game losing streak to protect.

2011 LSU One of the toughest schedules ever, undefeated regular season, and then absolutely embarrassed on the biggest stage to a hated rival.

Yep. Just picked the wrong year to be the 2nd best team in maybe a decade. One of the few games in ten years where Les absolutely got out-coached also. Amazing the way that team demolished everyone but 'Bama without great QB play. 10 out of 11 defensive starters for LSU have played in the NFL.

The qb position sticks out like a sore thumb though. 06 was better.

I'm sure you gumps can come up with a few championship trophies for those years from the Downtown Birmingham House of Trophies or maybe you can find a special place for you Mobile Bay Charter Fishing Captains National Championship

2008, 2010, and 2013 were all one play or two away from playing for the NC and winning it. All of them had amazing talent and Bama could easily have won 6 in a row if a few plays went our way. One of Bears teams got left out in the early years too. Our missing ring.

You were much, much, much closer to winning zero than you were to winning 6 in a row.

04 AU easy

I think you have to include that awesome defensive team that pushed back the crimson tide way back when

I mean, it had never been done before and it's never been done since 1446 BC

2008- Weak year in the west. Lost to Utah
2010- Lost 3 games. So probably more than a play or two away.
2013- lost to Oklahomah not that good.

the answer is the 2011 LSU team. They beat the National Champion, The Orange Bowl Champion, the rose bowl champion. 8 ranked teams.

i don't really care is they lost 21-0. There isn't a team in the country the couldn't beat.

I don't know, but 2011 Bama is definitely the greatest team to not win the SEC...or the SEC West.
