y'all were one or two plays away from playing for the championship in 2010??? Was this in an alternate universe?

Definitely that Miami team that "lost" to Ohio State. Look at that roster.

"2010 Almost National Champion"
not to be confused with almost 2010 National Champion

2004 Auburn has got to be tops for recent years. At the time I don't think people properly respected how good a conference the SEC was (not true today) or how much talent that Auburn team had (most players went to NFL, some still playing).
I think back in the 70s Southern Cal had some really great teams that didn't win. And of course 2002 Miami was a pretty special team that lost it at the very end. Of course Miami also stole one from another team considered among the best ever - 1983 Nebraska.

This goes beyond your father, Larry. This is killing your father's father.

2010 almost beat Cam and the leg of that LSU kicker. We would have went to the ship.
No, it would have been Oregon vs TCU instead of Oregon vs Auburn. They both were undefeated.

I think you had plenty of good luck the years you did win it all. You want to share hard luck stories talk to a Georgia fan (although not with me as whining about the past is pathetic).
Which makes you pathetic, Larry.

When did he claim Baylor had come close to winning anything?
If it weren't for all their losses with RG3, they would've won the NC

again, Larry, we've discussed this. Baylor having never won anything doesn't mean Alabama did win 2010.

So if we're speaking hypothetically, if Colt McCoy doesn't get hurt, Texas scores 38 and Bama "only" wins 5/6. Unless of course, we hypothetically propose that wholesale changes aren't made to the BCS that essentially negate the computer rankings (the "USC is a bunch of whining pussies rule" as I like to call it), in which case OSU plays LSU for the title and Bama only wins 4/6.
This is a stupid game, Larry.

It's tough to choose between the 20 years where Bama doesn't claim a national title, but I'd have to go with one of those teams.

Yes I think we should claim the 1966 year. We really deserve it.

Drop '41 and start claiming '66. I'm good with this
