Response thread to your own backfired thread. Now that's how you know your alter is bad.

It's been so long since Tennessee mattered. It feels so weird watching that.

I would have thought it was that 70s something win over Texas when Richard Nixon attended?

What about when they beat Auburn's arse to keep them out of the SECCG in 06?

That was in 69 and Arkansas lost by 1 point.

Dear Vols,

I hate you and don't want you to leave this thread feeling good about yourselves. So:

You should do the Reggie Fish fumble on your next response thread.

Believe it or not, I was pulling for #2 Arkansas to hold on against #1 Texas in DEC 1969. They had a 14-0 lead in the 2nd half and lost 15-14.
I was only 6 but I remember.
Arky then lost to 7-3 Ole Miss and Archie 27-22 in the Sugar at Tulane Stadium.
UT beat #11 8-2 ND in the Cotton. The Cotton had promised #7 9-1 LSU vs UT, but of all the years for ND to decide to go to a bowl (after 30 something years of refusing) they chose THIS year. They invited ND behind LSU's back, and one of the best Tiger teams of the era stayed home.

Well, Texas lobbying like crazy not to have to face LSU in the Cotton Bowl had something to do with it.

The last time LSU played Texas in the Cotton was after the '62 season when the Tigers upset the undefeated Longhorns 13-0. They didn't want any part of LSU in '69.

Penn State was undefeated and had a chance to play the Arkansas/Texas winner for the AP title but declined.
