Well that's a load of horseshite. What DC isn't doing what their coach tells them? Are you suggesting that Saban is so good that he doesn't even actually need a DC?

If so, why didn't we stick with Steele after the 2007 season?

First off what are we considering Modern day?
Since 2000, 1970, 1950?

I would think any list would have t start with
Chavis though.
You also have to give Smart some credit, they have been very successful , whether you want to call him a puppet or not. He does have the title DC. He probably will never get the credit he deserves or doesn't until he steps out of the shadow of NS.
