Probably have to go with “The Greatest”. Some really memorable names but I’d be hard pressed to pick one over Ali.

Zion is the best basketball player from SC?

No Kevin Garnett? Alex English? Jermaine O’Neal? Fricking Xaxier McDaniel?

The state of Alabama owns this thread. Being from Arkansaa, Pippen and Dan Hampton are the first that come to mind.

Bo could run fast, jump high and hit a fastball. Not many have that combination.

You have a pretty loose definition of what being from Texas means.

Shaq went to high school there, but was born in New Jersey and grew up in Germany. Roger Clemens grew up in Ohio, and didn't move to Texas until he was 15 or 16. Clyde Drexler was born in New Orleans. Ricky Williams is straight up from California and didn't move to Texas until college.

Oh -- and Johnny Manziel shouldn't be on anyone's "greatest athlete" list. LOL.

Some of the greatest pure athletes of all time, including Jesse Owens, Bo Jackson, Willie Mays, and Satchel Paige. Hank Aaron gets an honorable mention, I guess.
