Chaney will be fired in 3 years.

He fits the philosophy and what we want to do. I'll take anything over Shotty so there is that.
Your philosophy is to throw it deep on 2nd and long and run end arounds on 3rd and long?

Have you seen the UF offense the last few weeks? You keep blaming Harris so is having a QB more important than a good coach?
In our case, yes. Go watch our games. Almost every passing play there a receiver or four wide open on every play.
Hell, Bama defensive coaches even mentioned that after the SECCG.
Point being, we need a QB who can see the field. Harris couldn't do that.
If we had McElroy or Mccarron back there we would be in the playoffs right now.

Tyler... Go read the quotes when Weiss was hired. Florida was going to be world beaters.
Funny thing about history... It tends to repeat. Look at this guys history after Brees. Whole lotta nothing.
Just like Weiss after he left New England.
The only apparent similarity between Weiss and Chaney is that tehy're both fat. Otherwise, Weiss is out of a job and virtually hated by everyone that had to to work with him while Chaney is clearly well thought of by folks in the industry and continues to get work.
You just got Muschamp'd, bro. Plain and simple. And I'm not sorry, either.

feel like UGA is really hurting itself, but hiring both Smart and Chaney are sort of uninspiring for a program that is looking to elevate above the Richt era.
Yeah, they aren't as exciting as hiring a hick high school coach but they will continue to beat Auburn year after year.

Kirby wasn't so smart here. At least Muschamp's first year he hired wise, no one guessed Wise would tank though.

so uga now has a totally unproven defensive coach and this guy lol
i bet uga is about to have a boring arse run first offense
kirby might actually be muschamp 1.5

UGA fans have gone into complete denial and have started fabricating their own reality.
Please point out where we have been fabricating reality?? Like I said, I think the combo of Chaney/Pittman is a great hire. We build up our line, have Eason come in, plus our backfield?? It's gonna get bad for opposing teams.

We just spend a full season watching Shotty and he is fianlly gone. I won't hate this hire until I have a reason to do so. Right now, I'm just going to wait and see how it plays out.

All I know is that Enos this year was shite loads better than Chaney any year he was here. Chaney would make some baffling brain fart calls.

Hog fans will be excited about playing the Dawgs if he's still there, we'll be able to call out his plays before the snap.
He will cost UGA games, bookmark it.

Here's pretty much what you are going to see - he'll do mostly okay and then make some crucial calls that make you go WTF????
Just a heads up. (Like we gave Ole Miss when they hired Nutt, like we gave Aubbie when they hired Gus. Add this one to the list.)

Only reason I have ever heard of this guy was because A&M asked Arkansas fans about him a few day.
Aside from the link showing his... girth ... the only thing that was apparent in the thread was the Arkansas fans were clearly of the impression they were better off without him.
This is just my opinion, but you would have been much better off with the quarterback whisperer.
Of course we have our own problems right now. But I think a response to you is appropriate Karma since you started a laugh at not getting Kelly thread and last night you thought you were getting the Notre Dame guy only to end up with the Arky cast off.

Get ready for the 40 yard fade pattern on 3rd and 2.

Unless Chaney went through a massive ideological change at Pitt, this time next year you'll see Bulldog fans losing their mind over this dude.

Whether it turns out to be a smart hire or not is to be seen, but it is definitely the biggest hire in UGA history.

Chaney, though, had his fair share of miscues.
Most notably, perhaps, was the dustup between he and head coach Pat Narduzzi at the end of the first half against North Carolina when the team couldn't get plays onto the field quick enough before time expired. The play-calling this year, while effective at times, also left a lot of people scratching their heads. And in terms of overall philosophy, Pitt seemed to do too much passing for my liking early in games. A blatant example of that came against Miami when the Panthers were facing a weak Hurricanes run defense and opted to pass quite a bit early on, putting them in an early hole. That included a curious decision to throw a pass on 3rd and 1 (while being successful on that drive in running the ball), ending a drive. There were several such examples of odd decisions considering the down and distance as well as the opponent scattered throughout the season.
