I don't understand the confusion of OM internet fans (not you). Most seem to think that the university has bent over to take it from the NCAA, yet they think CHF deserves to still be there. OM is fighting the NCAA like hell to keep CHF in place, imo.

That is wrong. The administration and the team that was put together to deal with the investigation has bent over backwards to keep their mouth shut, try to get bonus points for cooperation, and wait for their day in court.
Freeze hasn't been in that circle and there has been tension between Freeze and the investigators. To the point that it as been quoted in stories that Freeze has been "defiant" towards the NCAA.

Yes, he will keep his job because they won't give him a show cause. And No, he will be fired for cause. Are both acceptable answers.

That is the complete deciding factor in this whole thing. Everything we are fighting in both NOAs is to keep it at 1 year and not a 2 year.

I really don't get it, is there nothing State fans have to be happy about besides the Ole Miss investigation? I know Howland has been a disappointment but still, State is decent in every sport and yet the fan base is still obsessed with what is going on at Ole Miss. I'm realistic about what we did and how we'll be punished, but surely some of you have to realize how pathetic it is how obsessed the State fan base has become about Ole Miss. Every SEC school wanted us to get caught and punished, which I get, but the obsession with State to see it happen is insane. Hell, Auburn wants Bama to be caught but they still focus more on the pride in their own school and accomplishments than what happens at Bama. I went to Ole Miss but am not from Mississippi so maybe I just don't get it, but most the Ole Miss fans I know hate State in terms of wanting to beat them in sports, but wouldn't waste much time thinking about the school or their athletic program outside of game day. Again, I certainly see wanting us to be caught and punished but just don't understand the obsession.

Because the only thing Freeze has been accused of in either NOA has been not monitoring the staff well enough. Which we are fighting.
And he has been as successful as any coach we have had since integration. Why would we throw him away for no reason?

Either incompetence or belief that however many coaches it would be over the next 10-15 years wouldn't be as good on average as Freeze. So survive the storm and let the only man who got you to the sugar bowl in the modern era get you back.

The thread dedicated to OM's plight is pinned at the top of the page and only has 25 pages of response. Last week I asked at what time Leonard Fournette would be running the 40 at the Combine and got 28 pages in a few hours.

My guess is most of the comments about Fournette came from LSU fans and a bunch of different people. Pretty much the majority of Ole Miss threads and comments are made by you and 4 or 5 other State people. Again, just asking out of curiosity what the obsession is all about?

we are concerned that you guys are letting in kids that can't read... while we admire the help... you have to hold the university up to some standards. not everyone is meant to go to college especially those that can't read.
