Let's play hypotheticals. We take it 4th and 7. We kick a short field goal. You have 23 seconds to drive the length of the field and score a touchdown. This play didn't cost you the game. Fumbling in your own endzone did that.

46 yards is a short FG?

UGA probably wins but lets not pretend 46 yards is "short" and automatic. You may have missed. Then they only need to go about 30-40 yards to try and tie.

yeah and they would explain so much time being ran off the clock...

What i will never get, is at the begining of the fourth, UT had 2 or three consecutive series with a back-up quarterback in and did not run the ball once.....

This is a common occurrence, SEC officials protect the heavyweights. What would concern me, if I was a fan of your school...is that UT was once one of those teams getting protection. let that sink in for a minute. LINK

They tried to with the zone read and fumbled the ball. Also, did a reverse to Malone.

I agree it's not a chip shot but Morgan has been pretty automatic the last two years.

For Marshall Morgan? Yes.

Remember him from last year? 57 yarder in the first quarter and 42 yarder in OT.

You mean the same the Morgan who missed two field goals against South Carolina. I believe both of those field goals were shorter than 46 yards

Man, that was a horrible spot. Why didnt they challenge it. I didnt watch the game but saw the highlights. Gurley didnt appear to get it over the goal line on the replay I saw either.

He certainly was automatic vs. USC this year. From 44 and 28 :)

Couldn't challenge because of no timeouts.

Did the announcers say anything about it?

I didn't think about it at the time but thought they got a really good spot. Didn't know it was 3-4 yards closer.

Announcers didn't say anything.

Whether it changes the outcome of the game or not is unknown.. but what is known is that the officials fricking sucked.

I'm pretty sure Morgan missed a 39 yarder in last year's game.

On the road in a stiff dew. No one's perfect.

At home, he's been automatic the last 2 years.

But let's get back to the topic at hand. Are you blaming this loss on the refs?

And he also made a 57 yarder and a 42 yarder to win the game.
