This is the same thing as when after football season hog fans told me that no one said Tyler Wilson would throw for more yards then Mallet did. Then when I pulled the thread, they said that's just one idiot. So no, you are full of shite. Go look at the many threads on it. Then come back and tell me they were joking or it was just one or that person is a moron.

Go look at the grinding thread and the chest thumping after beating State. I wish hog fans would, for once, own up to the delusion instead of pretending it weren't so.

Arkansas = mouth like Bama + play like Ole Miss

I'll give you the same advice everyone here is giving me. Go to Hogville, you'll find plenty over there who thought we'd win more, and go to the NCAAT this year. laughable. MA will never have a season above .500 in the SEC.

Yeah, I'm the one dumbass who thought we shouldn't hire a retread assistant to lead our program out of the dumpster fire that is Arkansas basketball. I'm a regular retard.

if this is your reasoning, then yeah you are a regular retard.

Mike Anderson had great history as a HC before he came to Arkansas. his credentials were tight, and he did pretty well bringing Mizzou out of their dumpster fire.

I never saw that... Only serious thread pre-football season I saw was the season prediction thread that most of us predicted would be 9-3 or 10-2.

You win some you lose some I guess.

I think more people get carried away with flaming than factual posts.

Go troll over to Hogville and search Jump Ball for the preseason predictions for basketball and you will find nothing but 15-20 win predictions and an NIT bubble from 99.98% of posts.

Football next year might be our year, finishing in the Top 5 warrants a little excitement I would say, and it's not like national publications/sports writers haven't mentioned it either.

Baseball team was/is preseason Top 5, so yeah, CWS should probably happen.

As for before that, idk, wasn't here, can only speak for current sports.

No fan base should ever apologize for optimism before every season. It's what all fans do...look at the positives and think about what could happen if things break just right. Getting 18 wins with a Sunbelt roster after losing your best player is not all that bad in my opinion. I don't see greatness in this next incoming class, and we despreately need to upgrade the talent, so that has me a bit concerned. But I reserve judgment on him. I still think he was a good hire. As we saw with Nolan, and as we see with just about every coach and every system - the squad with the best talent, wins. Get the talent and watch Anderson win. Simple as that.

Thanks. I'm a troll because I'm an old school realistic non-brainwashed fan. These people in their 20's and 30's are out of their minds.

Here's my reality check, and it is a fact. Our football program is looking up, no denying that. Back to back 10+ win seasons. Now before you Bama and LSU fans jump on this with your who gives a shite comments, that IS improvement by our football program. I honestly look for that to continue.

Our baseball team has been a consistent contender for the last several years, and this year appears to be no different. THOSE are facts.

But our basketball program? Jesus. I grew up with Eddie, and Super Sid, Big Joe Kline, Alvin Robertson, Darrell Walker, Nolan, Todd and Lee, Big O. We SUCK and HAVE sucked for 15 years. THAT is fact. I happen to believe MA will NEVER get us there. Hopefully all you homers will tell me to eat crow and F off if he happens to prove me wrong, but I thin we were sold a VERY expensive bill of goods.

I'll agree with you there - Mizzou's program was in shambles after the disaster known as Quin. Anderson brought credibility back to the program, and character. It was just obvious in the last year that his heart wasn't in it, and I didn't like how he treated his players, or the university, on his way out.

The only quarrel I had with his style of play is that he didn't adjust when other teams started to figure out the system. He just kept running the system, regardless. And his teams managed to choke away wins in games that were close late.

He'll bring improvement to Arkansas, in my opinion, but as teams figure out his system and respond to it I think you'll plateau somewhat.

It's easy to criticize after a coaches first season.

It's not like Nolan went 12-16 in his first year or anything.

No one knows what CMA will do at the YouOfA until mid year 3, that's when I'll get worried if we still suck shite.

Completely agree with you. Problem is the fans of Wal Marks nation come back on this board and deny their boasts when Arkansas gets beat up in a season. They will talk the most shite on the board, but when the team can't cash the check written by their fans' mouths, they come on here and say it was a joke or "no one said X." The shite talking doesn't bother me, it is the lack of accountability for all that shite.

That is because, for whatever reason, our talent pipeline has dried up. Really, it hasn't been the same since Scotty Edgar left. He was the guy who kept those relationships in Memphis. Stan Heath was a bad hire. Stan Heath, with the help of Nolan and John White, made Arkansas a place top players wanted to avoid. Until a coach can start getting top talent to come here, the results won't change. John Wooden could not have gotten this roster to the postseason.

If u were around for Nolans first couple of years, did u want him fired too for being a terrible team?

I'd like an honest answer and expect reasoning to why your opinion differs on Richardson and Anderson. Anderson has a better D1 resume than Nolan when Nolan took the job.

Because he grew up with Nolan and he had constant improvement after his first sea---- frick that wont work because MA is in season 1.
