Correct, live play. But Murray was barely jogging. He was not pursuing to make a tackle. Clearly unnecessary roughness. Debatable on whether or not he should be suspended. But clearly a penalty that was missed.

^ exactly.

It was a dirty play. You can block the QB and hit him hard after a pick - but a blind side helmet to helmet at full speed is a penalty whether its a QB or not. The fact Murray is a star QB should have made that ref staring at the play throw his flag. Watching that video - easy concussion and possibly one of those carried off on a stretcher with neck tied down plays. Then we wouldn't have witnessed an incredible SEC Championship game. Can we at least agree it was dirty as hell? If not your 3rd grade reader type.

No, but if Saban had a testicle he would suspend him on his own like Spurrier did. Hats off to Spurrier for having some courage that the Gumps will be too scared to swallow!

Saban suspended, on his own, the player who body slammed the Missouri running back. I personally thought that wasn't worthy of suspension.

Saban has no problem suspending backups

bullshite. LSU got flagged this year with the game in question on a punt return for a blocker coldcocking a guy 20 yds up field that was not in the play and was just lolly gagging around. Refs said it was Unnecessary Roughness - 15 yds from the spot. Cost us about 60 yds.

Murray was not attempting to make any play on the tackle. So I call bullshite on all you Bammers who want to tell everybody it was competitive football.

but a blind side helmet to helmet at full speed

I clearly saw the fear in Murray's eyes when he realized he was taking the play off should be playing to the whistle and saw the hit coming. Not a blind side if you see the hit coming. If it had been a third stringer on a punt return everyone would be loving the "de-cleater" on a guy not keeping his head on a swivel.

It's "you're"

I wouldn't call it dirty but it wouldn't have surprised me if he was flagged either. Debatable at best, and wasn't even called despite a ref standing 5 feet away.

You're right. That third of a second from -when Murray saw him to when Dial launched his helmet into Murray's- makes all the difference in the world.

And that makes it ok. Great Gump logic.

Nice to have a girl's point of view, but all you've done is to demonstrate why girls don't play football.

Correct, live play. But Murray was barely jogging.

Then maybe next time he'll play full speed until the whistle, instead of jogging half-arse after giving the ball to the other team.

Does the UGA player that went helmet to helmet on AJ sit out the bowl game? Not like either should be, but if we are on the "SEC must do what's right...it'l look fishy if they are protecting Bama etc etc" bandwagon....might as well be all on the bandwagon.

This thread is filled w/ Alabama haters who have never played a down of football run this thread. Ruled number on a turnover defensive players turn into blockers, and qbs turn into potential tacklers. Take a look at AJ after his pick. That was not a late hit it was a live play. Murray was being very selfish by not putting forth a better effort to make tackle.

Its amazing that Bama fans are attempting to defend what is clearly a blatant cheap shot.

Remember - UGA was called for a personal foul for hitting cry baby AJ.

Pretty obvious the SEC refs are not interested in calling anything on Bama.
