Well that's most certainly false. Herschel won one every year he was here 80-82.

Yep. You are right. Missed that UGA shared a title in 1981.

Mizzou has that 50+ games in a roll where they have forced at least one turnover.
By far the longest in the country.

That's impressive. It really is a shame, and kind of impressive - that a team that good is still only the 2nd best team in the country.

who are some of the better regular season OOC teams yall have played since then? I know that unlike UGA, UF, SC, etc. yall don't have an OOC rival you play annually. As you mentioned, I do remember yall making trips out to Washington, tempe, and WV. Are there any other major teams during that time span yall have faced?
FBS teams LSU has played since 2002:
2003 Arizona, 59-13, Tucson, AZ
2004 Oregon State, 22-21, Baton Rouge
2005 Arizona State, 35-31, Tempe, AZ
2006 Arizona, 45-3, Baton Rouge
2007 Virginia Tech, 48-7, Baton Rouge
2009 Washington, 31-23, Seattle, WA
2010 North Carolina, 30-24, Atlanta, GA
2010 West Virginia, 20-14, Baton Rouge
2011 Oregon, 40-27, Dallas, TX
2011 West Virginia, 47-21, Morgantown, WV
2012 Washington, 41-3, Baton Rouge
2013 TCU, 37-27, Dallas, TX
Future FBS OOC games:
2014 Wisconsin, Houston, TX
2015 @ Syracuse
2016 Wisconsin, Lambeaux Field
2017 Syracuse
2021 UCLA @ Rose Bowl
2022 @ Arizona State
2023 Arizona State
2024 UCLA

Oregon and Virginia Tech both went to BCS Bowls and Oregon won the Rose Bowl and I believe finished #4. We beat both of them easily, but I think we gave VT their worst loss ever under Beamer.
Another impressive streak - LSU hasn't returned a kickoff for a TD in Tiger Stadium since 1981. Well, maybe impressive is not the word, but anyway...

That really is incredible, considering the number of great returners LSU has had over the years.

The last time LSU lost to a Pac 12 team was 1979 USC.
Also included in that number are all current teams.
LSU is also 22-4 all time versus Pac 12.

Not a streak, but I recently read that Alabama has won more #1 v. #2 matchups in college football history than any other team. I think this was based on the AP poll.
I think they are 6-3 in such matchups.
I think ND is second with 5 wins in #1 v. #2 matchups (they are 5-4-1 in such matchups).
This is from memory and can't find the article now.

Wasn't Eddie Kennison's 109 yard return a kickoff? Or a punt? I was at that game, but was a kid.

I swear I saw Eddie return at least one.

That's what I'm trying to remember. It was against MSU. I can remember the run, but that's it.

After 2004 Auburn led Georgia by just five points in the entire series. After 2005 Auburn led by six points. After 2006 Georgia led by 16 total points.
As of right now Georgia is up in the series by 105 points.
