Give an honest assessment of your team going into the season

Can be about any aspect of the program you choose.
For UF, I think Napier has really worked hard changing the discipline of the team, and he has also worked hard on the recruiting trail. Things that will ultimately pay off in the long run. Pertaining to this season, I think we will take a step back offensively, and I am worried about the depth of our front 7. I don't like playing a physical team in our opener as it will soften us up for the rest of the schedule.

Because of the portal, I do not know much about the Rebs. We are supposed to have a good running game this season with a few talented backs and experienced OL. However, I think we will really miss our two coordinators (Lebby and Durkin), who did a great job for us last season.

I think they'll be okay, probably drop some WTF games due to the new coaching staff and new players trying to figure each other out.
There's also a lack of depth at several key positions, the most important being corner.

Tennessee:
Offense will be very good (second year in system will yield improvement). Defense will be average at best. Schedule is easier than last season. 8-4 is a reasonable expectation.

Despite having a disengaged coaching staff, we won 6 games last year and played some other ones tight. We lost some "starters" but none that were irreplaceable. The defensive line is loaded with future 1st rounders. I expect Brian Kellys discipline and intelligence to take make this team a lot better than people assume, and it all starts with week 1 against FSU. Great first challenge for the coach. If we lose that game, we may be in for a tough season.

That's like looking into a mirror for what Kelly has done with LSU.
Still too many holes or question marks at some positions - corner, tight end, QB, center. If those are all answered fast enough, a 9 win season is reasonable.
I am curious about Kelly's influence on the offense. He obviously trusts Denbrock, but if he keeps his thumb down, it could hurt.

Shouldn't lose a game.
Offense and defense are stout, key returnees, better leadership than last year.
If we show up say like the A&M game last year, dropping balls, giving up on routes and basically not giving a shite, we could lose a game.

Complete wild card.
No one can forget the horrendous run defense in 2021 although it stabilized to a degree at year-end. Drink worked the portal and with the new DC, I think we'll see a marked improvement.
WR room is a strength with the addition of Burden and some other guys who didn't live up to expectations last year, getting healthy.
The biggest question mark is QB. Can Brady Cook get the ball to the receivers? If so, we should be adequate there.
I don't see how we can do anything but take a step back a the RB position, but we never thought Badie could step up and fill Rountree's shoes so who knows.
The offense was super conservative in '21. Drinkwitz says he's going to "open it up" in '22. Great if the O-Line can protect Cook and he can get the ball downfield.
Bottom line, I think we are improved but take no umbrage in the 5.5 over/under. Gotta show it on the field. We'll know more after K-State and even more after Auburn.

For UGA I'm worried about the Punter. We lost possibly the best one in college football to the draft (yeah, our punter got drafted too) and the new guy looks like a new guy.
Only solution I can think of is for our offense to just not ever get to 4th down outside of FG range.

Florida, not my team, and I'm not trying to trash talk, but Saban disciples don't usually do much in their first seasons. Kirby Smart damn near lost to Nichols State as a 45 point favorite.
Also Anthony Richardson is brittle. Best case scenario is that he misses some games and it gives Coach Napier a chance to get next year's quarterback ready, whoever that is.
Year 2 usually is piss or get off the pot in the SEC. Every SEC coach of the last 20 years who's won a conference title started kicking arse in year 2.
Don't have the exact data, but the number of SEC coaches to win the conference championship in their second season in the last 20 years is pretty nutty.

I can see LSU and aggie locked into a highly contested battle for 5th place in the west.

I agree with this assessment. I think we'll surprise some teams, but drop ones we should not. I am thinking 7-5.

I think the OL will surprise and play really well, and hopefully we'll see a much improved ground game with a very good & healthy (finally) stable of RBs. D should be stout, and there is a newcomer on the DL I can't wait to see. Holy cow I can't wait until KO BTW BigD, are you gonna have a "Post a favorite #4" today?

That is my official projection as well, but predicated on the hope that we do NOT drop ones we should not.

I think we are a 9-3 team if the QB play is average. The defense should be similar (more talent/less experience). The OL and skill talent should be improved (Evan Stewart to help out the downfield threat). But, with the importance of QB, our season will be determined by how that goes.

I'm convinced Mizzou chooses starting QB's based solely on how quarterbacky his name is.
