Why is everybody talking shite over BBQ? Dreamland is awesome. Who cares that it's not the exact same as the original location?
Because the difference is HUGE. If you haven't eaten ribs from the original joint you just don't know.....like Mom's apple pie (store bought), an what your mama actually pulled out of the oven when you were a kid!

Until this was pointed out, I had no idea that Sonny's was a Florida chain. On behalf of Floridians everywhere, I'm sorry. No one should have to pay all that paper money for sub par corporate barbecue.

If you're in Florida a must eat at a chain, eat at Fat Boy's Bar-B-Q. They're ain't many of them left, but it's still the best BBQ chain in FL.

If you're ever in Polk County, try Peeble's.

Is your avatar a Prattville reference by any chance? If so how's Fat Boys doing these days? Haven't been there in close to 20 years.

That's a Birmingham joint. If people are bent out of shape in regards to origin, Birmingham isn't much better.

I personally don't care but something like Fox Bros would have been good. They have experience catering to outside events and serving food in stadiums so scale wouldn't be an issue. And it gets the "they're not local" crowd to put down their pitchforks.

I don't know. Haven't been there since at least 2006. Never really liked that place. It was a guarantee that I would always end up biting into a chunk of fat in my sandwich.

It is pretty easy to pull off a decent sausage dog at a stadium concession but other than, I don't waste my money on things other than boiled peanuts or salted parched peanuts. I really don't think I would be tempted to buy a slab of Dreamland ribs at a football stadium.

I don't think they sell ribs at the stadium. Mostly BBQ nachos, maybe a BBQ sandwich.

Its just one of the songs we play. Our band plays "7 Nation Army" too but that doesn't mean it's our fight song. Our original fight song is "War Eagle!" Ya mighta heard it.

We were the first to coin it in the 60's whether you like it or not. But you motherfrickers are so busy sniffing your own farts and telling each other how your shite doesn't stink so you wouldn't know that.

Ahhh yes. Nothing makes me want to watch a game more than two perineal preseason champs duke it out over bragging rights for which division has the 2nd best team than both bands playing some Yankee tune every 15 minutes like it's something to be proud of.

Evidence then, that it is all about the money and name Dreamland. Anyone can do that - for way less than they will be charging.

Yes, I know you'd rather watch the school that has a losing record to both the schools you mentioned.

Best BBQ joints in Alabama are the ones you randomly find in some small town. I will say, Bob Gibson's brisket is legit, but their white sauce is "meh" to me.

Pretty much the theme of all BBQ places.

The more raggedy and rural the place, the better the BBQ.

What a surprise...something UGA is doing that is unoriginal. I'll add it to the list:

Helmet logo - copied from the Green Bay Packers

Fight Song - copied from Battle Hymn of the Republic

"Dawg Walk" - copied from AU's "Tiger Walk"

Some of the best I have had is where some old fella has set up in the parking lot of a gas station and selling plate lunches in store. They don't do a ton of business but if it's not good, they wouldn't be in business long.

Yep, I came across one recently in Goodwater, AL. A couple of old fella's sitting around in a parking lot selling bbq w/white bread and some homemade sauce.

I nearly made myself sick. The wife wouldn't touch it, so she got the honors of driving the rest of the trip while I stretched out on the back seat and slept off the bbq binge.
