but the bottom line is since 1990 we have beaten uf exactly 4 times.

And how many times have they just flat out had the better team? Is UF in vandy's head or SC's head, or have they just been better?

In the 90s, we had the better team MAYBE 3 or 4 times over the span of the decade. Maybe. And we won once. So that's like saying we went 1-3 in someone evenly matched games. Not great but whatever.

In 2001 they definitely had the better team and won. 02 and 03 we were better and lost. Then I've already talked about 04 to present above. The record itself looks bad but how reasonable is it to say "well we should be like .500 at worse against UF" or something like that? It's not, they've been the better team for most of the last 20 years, and years that we've definitely been better we've won a handful.

And btw, look at Tennessee's record against Florida since 1990. Is Florida in UT's head too?

The best total offense they've beaten is #74 MSU.

Ole Miss is #103, Vandy is #106, UT is #102, and Florida is #94...

These teams have played the better Defenses in the SEC and the country. 4 top 10 teams in total defense.

Bama has gone 5-0 vs SEC Teams Those teams are 6-19 in the SEC.

LSU has gone 5-0 vs SEC Teams. Those teams are 7-19 in the SEC.

UGA has gone 5-1 vs SEC Teams. Those teams are 9-23 in the SEC.

Using the schedule argument is tired and overrated.

yea. and bama and lsu DESTROYED their opponents whereas uga muddled through. having a weak schedule has helped uga WAY more than it did lsu and alabama.

i'm glad we're winning and i hope it continues. but i'm far from impressed.

All of things cannot be said about Georgia going into 2012.

UGA will be a great football team next year. Hell, they have a shot to win the SEC this year. They are coming together nicely as the season comes close to ending. Richt has been doing his job this year imo and my only gripe is that they lost USC when UGA was the better team.

Georgia fans aren't that excited. But it's nice to know we're better than Florida. Enjoy your half-decade or more of mediocrity under CWM.

Any Georgia fan that isn't excited right now at this point in time has something wrong with them. Would I rather be 8-0? Well duh. But we're coming off a 6-7 season and are knocking on the door of playing for the SEC title, all while seeing our defense return to actually being pretty darn good.
