I think the jersey is fine, I never really liked the Falcons black jerseys , I just prefer the traditional. But that's just a preference , but if the players( or just SR class ) want it I say why not.
But is should be one of those things on the schedule to look to, a pre determined game that everyone knows about , maybe even it supports something like blackout Athens for ALS. or something like that.
I hate using it as a gimmick or trick or something to try to build hype or mojo, cause it really never works for anyone when done that way. UGA is 2-1 in the jerseys in recent history, the game should never be about the uniforms , just something that's fun to look forward to. You can't make it seem like it's magical and somehow makes you unbeatable.
So if you look at the home schedule
Nicoles st - No- too early and during the day also you some fun to it and this provides none
UT- no - too big a game this year east on the line
VU - maybe - but it's homecoming and probably early start , so probably not
AU- maybe - probably the only option this year, I would prefer to stay away from the big 3 rivalry games
GT - no - same as AU but also the nerds on North Ave would spin it as needing it as a gimmick and their ego couldn't handle it.
Maybe UNC at the dome , but that's not really a home game and it wouldn't really give the promotion I'm talking about

I don't think we have done it since 2008, so, it does seem to go in a different direction, somewhat. We were not sure if Kirby would use them. Alabama was pretty steadfast in keeping everything traditional, (And why not, it works) so we thought he might do the same here.
We do like the black jersies, but we were also fine if he decided not to use them.

Georgia is the only school I can recall that actually looked good in black jerseys. Lord knows Kentucky's looked horrendous.

The narrative around the black jerseys has always confused me. To hear Tech fans and backup schoolers talk, you'd think we were 0-25 in them.
We wore them 3 times, all against ranked teams in big situations.
In two games we won in blowout fashion. In the third we got dominated and lost by 11.
Being 2-1 in a jersey you've only worn in huge games isn't anything to be embarrassed about.
