Cmon Croot, not only did I say it was my wayyyyy too early scouting report but y'all have no QB, atm. No reason to get butthurt just because I gave you 99 percent praise instead of 100 percent. And you know full well who in the East has a far better QB,
If you don't know by now, then just check with countless non-UT posters, , including your own. I may not always succeed in getting it right but I am known for being fair. This is the way I see it for now and it just comes across as silly to take a shot at UT when that post is 99 percent praise.
Personally, I wish UGA the best this yeat *except* when we play.

I appreciated your post..I just don't appreciate Dobbs' skill set. Horribly overrated.

he's still more proven than 98% of the QBs in the conference...id rather have dobbs than anyone else in the SEC

Special teams - who knows? Although I do expect their kickers/punters at the very least to be good.
I haven't gotten a chance to check your STs out this year. I was forgetful in not mentioning the OL which I've mention several times prior as being possibly the best run blocking line in the SEC and maybe the entire nation. I think it's a thing of absolute perfection and beauty.
Hope that it explains things.

so was Quincy Carter going into the 2000 season. He managed to beat UT but that was about it.

I don't see what that has to do with this season but okay

Here, I'll spell it out for you. Dobbs ain't that good. Nobody would want that guy.
Posted on 8/18/15 at 12:25 pm to Croot
We had a rash of injuries at TE and WR that game. At that point in the season we had lost a lot of offensive production. We also had a TD get called back and our offsides kick reversed (which it shouldn't have been). So in large part Dobbs did a lot to keep us in that game but penalties from other players killed us.

Whatever you say man
cause he beat Vandy and KY and two 7-6 football teams? Is that why y'all are so giddy?
Posted on 8/18/15 at 12:44 pm to Croot
We're giddy because we have a QB with SEC game experience (unlike 90% of the rest of the SEC) who has a very high ceiling. Returning QBs are at a premium this year, wouldn't you be happy if you had one?

and Dak and Kyle Allen are only good QBs in the conference going into the season. The others aren't very good (as of now), or not proven.

D looks to be very solid. The DL has some experienced older guys and a few young guys with a ton talent. The pass rush from the OLBs should be spectacular, and we'll be more athletic at ILB. The DBs return a lot of experience with two very good safeties and a very talented CB in Parrish, but we're replacing Damien Swann, who was a beast for us last year. Overall, talent will be better across the board than we had last year but we'll be replacing a couple of leaders in Swann and Herrera.
Offensively, the OL returns 4 guys from a great unit last year. Kublanow moves from his starting spot at LG down to center and Isaiah Wynn moves into the LG spot. Very solid group of starters and some quality depth. RBs speak for themselves. TE's have been tearing it up in camp so far and all 4 will likely see meaningful PT; very well-rounded group. WRs don't have much experience but there is a lot of speed and young talent. If Malcolm Mitchell goes down again, the wheels could come off of our passing game. I'll go on record saying that it's my belief that Ramsey is going to be the starter at QB. He's the most physically gifted of the group and it's his ability to stretch the defense that will help win him the job. Without solid QB play, we'll still have a damn good offense just because we have so many weapons in the backfield and Michel and Marshall are both very versatile, capable of playing in the slot, too. However, QB play will determine if our offense is truly elite or not.
Special teams should be pretty good again this year. Hopefully Morgan ironed out the kinks in his game after a couple of spotty performances last year. Barber has always had great hangtime on his punts but just needs to add more length on them. iMac returning kickoffs and punts is always dangerous. So long as we continue the coverages we had last year, all will be well.
All in all, we should be pretty good. If our QB play is just atrocious then I think our worst case is honestly about 7 or 8 wins. Even with mediocre play I think we're a 10 win team. If Ramsey or one of our other QBs can somehow find a way to play at an all-conference level, Malcolm Mitchell can stay healthy, and Terry Godwin and Michael Chigbu can carry a very good fall camp into the season then I think we could be in for a special season

Should be very solid. Isaiah McKenzie is an elite return man. Phil Steele named him as a preseason all-american return specialist. We'll use him all over the place on offense as well. Here are some of his plays from his freshman year if you aren't familiar with him. LINK

I know your LBs will be lights out. How would you describe the front 7 as a unit?
Posted on 8/18/15 at 1:38 pm to sjmabry
DL is somewhat of a question, but people can't say enough great things about former #1 overall players Trent Thompson at DT. The guy is a force already and MIGHT even start game 1. Sterling Bailey at DE has been around for years and is solid, but we're not real experienced on the DL as a whole. The linebackers across the board will be insane.
