And two picks as I recall. He was definitely not an asset, and yet he's still riding that glory.

That's just ignorant. In 1994 he was first team All-SEC and a Heisman finalist.

That guy is always at the right place at the right time.

Ain't nothing wrong with that.

Post the video and not an image. . .he was slowed up in traffic . .that guy came from behind with a full head of steam.

I'm not diminishing the play--it was the play of the game. But it wasn't the same. Teague ran down a WR in the open field from 15 yards back.

Ingram wasn't as fast, was slowed by traffic, etc.

Right and that's why Jay Barker is Jay Barker. Has nothing to do with 1992.

Probably one of the worst efforts I have even seen from a QB. 4 of 13 for 18 yards, 0 touchdowns, and 2 interceptions

Somehow...Someway...Barker has milked that performance into a radio career in Birmingham, despite the fact that he's God-awful at it.

Not just a radio career--Sara Evans.

Doesn't hurt that he loves Jesus. Works for Rick and Bubba too.

If Jay would ever man up when the time was right and remind Al that he was only a kicker, I swear, I'll go buy Jay's book.
You're right that radio show is awful..

Acting like 1992 was all he did and that he was not an asset is ignorant.

I was a kid when Jay was at Alabama and there hasn't been a more loved and respected QB since Joe and Snake than Jay. He wasn't a great QB but he did a lot of good for Bama and Bama did a lot of good for Jay.

He was not an asset IN THAT GAME. He was a liability. Are you arguing otherwise? Are you ignorant? Yes, yes, I think you are.

His career is built around that game. Where he was simply present. Yes, I believe anyone could have handed off to Lassic 300 times in that game.

Sounds like you mad . . he stank it up in that game. We won in spite of him.

He developed into a decent college QB later . .

Jay doesn't care. He knows that for as long he lives, redneck Bama fans will still line up at a Wal-Mart grand opening in order to get his autograph.

True story: I was at a restaurant/bar in Bham a few weeks ago the same time Jay was. He couldn't have been more than a few feet away from 20 TVs. The Final Four was on and I'm not lying when I say he didn't even attempt to watch one minute of the games....even though his livlihood depends on discussing it. Of course this is the same guy who takes 200 vacation days a year which usually includes National Signing Day.

He does know the game . . when he talks about the game he's OK.

He is terrible at interviewing guests--he says what he wants to say in the form of a question.

The opposite of Finebaum whose interviews are excellent in an otherwise awful call-in show.

Jay is terrible at radio. He cuts off callers, stumbles through conversations, and just has no radio savvy whatsoever. I can't stand listening to him or Tony.

Al Del Greco is actually pretty good. At least I find myself agreeing with him more than the other two so I tend to like him better, despite playing at Auburn

That was the luckiest motherfricking bounce I've ever mother fricking seen in my motherfricking life

Why can't AU just split their luck between Alabama and LSU and not waste it all on Alabama

I guess that's the price you pay

Yes....but one would think that if you were hosting a sports radio show centered around college football, then National Signing Day would be one of the few days you probably wouldn't take a vacation on.

The problem is that the pool of quality UA media personalities is pretty shallow.

His career was built around winning. Not just winning one game. He was the Greg McElroy of his time. But with Stallings as coach, he could have been Peyton fricking Manning and not ever have broke 150 yards passing in a game.

As far as the radio show, I think he does fine. Del Greco is the one that sucks.

Without that one game--the one where he threw for 18 yards and 2 picks--he's just another QB.

What is wrong with you dude? No one every claims Barker was the reason for that win. He is very humble about his playing days.
