Without that one game--the one where he threw for 18 yards and 2 picks--he's just another QB.

The only thing people talk about in that game is the total domination that Bama's defense laid on Miami. Nobody mentions Barker. You're wrong. Or dumb.

EXACTLY. But he is a "National Championship Winning QB" per WJOX.

Without that, he's a color analyst on the sideline.

What is wrong with you dude? No one every claims Barker was the reason for that win. He is very humble about his playing days.

Nothing's wrong with me. I didn't bring him up.

He just gets elevated unjustly IMO . . Brody Croyle--for example--was a much better QB. He was just on a crappy team.

The Greg McElroy comparison is fairly apt--but Greg was still a better QB.

Why are people bashing Barker?

It's not the 1992 season where he made his name. It was the 1994 season.

In the 2012 LSU v. Florida game, Mettenberger hit Beckham deep. Matt Elam chased Beckham down and forced a fumble.

Exactly this.

Jay Barker lit it up in 1994 and was a big reason we were 11-0 coming into the SEC Championship Game.

No one talks about Jay Barker when they speak of the 1992 season. All they ever talk about is that defense.
