I for one don't really want to lose the Florida game.
But if it means a fair schedule with equal rotation I am all for it.

The B1G is doing something like. Indiana/Purdue is the only permanent cross-divisional series in the conference.
There's no reason DSOR and TSIO couldn't be kept and everyone else rotate.

All games conference, no OOC and drop out of the NCAA and crown our own national champion.

I'm going to say it's safe to guess that these schools will definitely vote to keep the permanent games: Bama, AU, UT, UGA, Arky, & Mizzou.
These teams will most likely vote against it: LSU, aTm, & USCe.
The swing votes will be: OM, Vandy, MSU, UK, & UF.
The last time this was put to the vote two years ago, all of the swing voters voted to keep the games.

That would be awesome. NO SEC title game. 13 game schedule. You play everyone. Crown a true champion.

There we go, 13 game conference slate, NC in ATL.

I'm good with that, but you'd probably have to add the new Mizzou/Arky game as well.

Or switch AU and Mizzou and drop the annual IB...which would probably be the healthy thing to do.

Can't argue with you on that.

The Big 12 claimed they would do this, and in 2012 they named 2 Champions and in 2013, they were two games away from naming 4.

Maybe the simplest solution is to move Alabama and Auburn into the East and Missouri and Vandy into the West. I'm sure LSU fans would love that.

Or we could just turn Georgia into a prison.

I don't think it matters. The truth is those swing votes mostly don't care one way or another. The 6 yays are dead-set against a change. The 3 nays are against it, but their feelings just aren't as strong about it. Maybe LSU is but I don't think SC or A&M really care that much, they just don't care about having it.
The vote will end up keeping them because it's hugely important for multiple schools. My guess is they'll talk compromises such as the B1G model or asking them to play Non-Conference games some years. But neither really works well so I'll be surprised if they don't keep it as is.

The UA BOT had it right, back in the day. Today though, the fans would hate this if it happened I suspect.

The only programs that I'm aware of being adamantly against the permanent rivalries are LSU & USC. The rest were wanted things to remain as they are now.

ARK/USC
It's already been done.
Beginning this coming season our permanent cross-divisional rival has been designated to be A&M, and visa versa.
Arkansas and Mizzou are now permanent cross-divisional rivals, according to the league offices.
A&M and SCAR definitely got the better competitive end of the deal. Not to mention it gives me a reason to go to Dallas every couple of years to visit family there, so I'm happy with the change.
I doubt a 9 game conference schedule will affect any of the other existing inter-divisional games you listed.

I think the primary issue, with Slive, is keeping all the permanent rivalries and an 8 game slate. I think he is going to use his powers of persuasion to see one or the other undone, most likely going to a 9 game slate if I had to pick.
