GD does a good job most of the time. You're just butthurt. I can't stand when fans complain about broadcasters being "biased". There are more than a few "bama fans" that always complain about GD being biased against Alabama. It was a huge play that resulted in 7 points. It deserved to be commented on. They missed both calls.

No, the officials blatantly missed a call. An egregious call at that. The refs screwed us all day. This was just the mist obvious. No he didn't go overboard.

Okay, you're insane homeboy is lazily jogging not paying attention

After the fact the SEC was talking about suspending Dial for that hit. Corrective actions were instead handled internally.

How are you out of the play if the play is heading your way and you are going toward the ball?

Gary and Verne were very biased in calling that game.

No doubt about that. And this is supposed to be CBS' A-team?

So he should have ignored the two obviously blown calls?

Should he harp on it for 10 minutes like a little sissy?

When it resulted in a touchdown for one team? Yes.

As a neutral observer in real time the hit just looked like a huge but not a PF, in slow motion it certainly looked worse, could they have made the call? sure, but it wasn't a true helmet to helmet in the true sense.

Regardless, it was ridiculous for Gary, a "neutral" game announcer to keep harping on it it over and over and over.

I think most non partisans would agree on that.

Danielson was visibly upset.

that's strange for a commentator who is typically barely seen.

You guys sure do piss and moan.

Sounds like a dumb way to act as a defender with the ball carrier heading your way. You might just get lit up. Like Bateman last year.

I wasn't upset with the blocking penalty as it was so far off the play.

That WAS absolutely a H2H hit though with the player leading with the crown. Should have been called all day long.

To be fair a team can't complete a 10 yard pass on Bama without Verne screaming WIDE OPEN and creaming his pants

You are completely homerific

Verne sounds like he's attending a funeral when someone does something against Bama. He totally creams for Bama

as it was him crying over the helmet to helmet hit on Hurts.

Well, he was right. I hate bans with every drop of my blood, but that was an intentional lowering of the crown of the helmet if I've ever seen one.
These ducking refs just aren't consistently calling games the same way.

it was a block in the back and the TD should have been nullified. and it was helmet to the chin of the QB.

Danielson acted like a little crybaby after that play. Never said a word after the helmet to helmet hit on Kelly a few series later. He was obviously pulling for Bama.

As for refs missing calls - Bama has NOTHING to bitch about. Y'all got away with a few calls that in most leagues refs would get fired for. That goal line sequence was a joke and the momentum changing no calls on the punt return were predictable.

On the positive side, they did actually call holding once.

The Targeting hit on Jalen Hurts resulted in a TD. By Rule Targeting is a reviewable play. Alabama should have called a TO and challenged the non-call. A full review of the play would have been done. There is no doubt it was targeting. Marquis Haynes would have been ejected, a 15 yard penalty incurred against Ole Miss and Alabama would have retained possession at midfield with momentum.

This was the most pivotal play in the game - the most important play in the game that had a direct impact on winning/losing the game. A flagrant targeting foul was committed by Marquis Haynes on Jalen Hurts that includes ejection from the game, Alabama maintaining possession, and a 15 yard penalty against Ole Miss. All of that was missed and instead Ole Miss was awarded a TD. I'd say that was worth discussion by the announcers covering the game for an extended period of time.
