I know the penalty happened before he actually crossed the goal line. And if so, the TD should have been brought back. But did any Bama fans think Gary Danielson went a little overboard on his analysis of the call? To me it really didn't even look to be a penalty and I don't think Breeland Speaks barley even knocked the Bama player over. Danielson just wouldn't let it go and was blasting Speaks. He even reached trying to say Marquis Haynes should have gotten flagged for a hit to the head. He acted like a little bitch.

Just thought Danielson really lost it. That duo has way too up in the years.

It is time for him to go when Verne goes. Love Nessler taking over for Verne, we just need a replacement for Gary D.

They usually do a halfway decent job of at least trying to be objective, but Gary just couldn't hold back his crimson tears last night when that play unfolded.

We are going to look back on these calls and laugh.

"O man those commentators actually thought Ole Miss could hang with Bama? HAHAHA morons"

Ole Miss is on their way back to averaging 4-8 and thats if they dont get dick slapped by the NCAA.

So yes, it was overboard

It wasn't the fact that he over analyzed the blocking penalty so much as it was him crying over the helmet to helmet hit on Hurts. I had to mute my TV it became so annoying to listen to.

frick that old hag Verne and his bitch boy sidekick Danielson

I've never heard him go that over board with it before. It was pretty ridiculous, he went on for maybe 10 mins about it.

Then when he finally stopped bitching about that call he went to complaining about how the hit on Hurts that caused the fumble was illegal.

To be fair a team can't complete a 10 yard pass on Bama without Verne screaming WIDE OPEN and creaming his pants

Danielson was visibly upset.

I thought it was a potential targeting but he appeared to initially strike his chest then slide up to his helmet. It was definitely closer than many have made it out to be on here. He led with the crown tho IIRC.

I think he was more up in arms that Speaks would even risk the chance at the penalty. Who knows?

It actually would have worked in our favor had it been called back. We could have milked some clock and maybe scored giving Bama less time to score 14 unanswered going into the half.

I don't mind analysis against my team at all, just think as a primetime CBS analyst, he shouldn't have acted like a little girl. Sounded like a Bama fan was in the booth.

I thought the flag was going to be a targeting call even though I saw a clean hit.

This is nothing new. Danielson at least once a game picks a play and will over analyze whether or not someone's foot stepped out of bounds. Few more plays and a commercial break later he's still talking about the dudes toe and reviewing the tape

He had Verne speechless. I think Verne behind the cameras was telling GD to shut the f up.

Nothing he said was wrong. It was helmet to helmet.

People always say this about winning teams.
They did this with Tebow and UF.

You guys are fans of other teams. You're butthurt.

Gary and Verne were very biased in calling that game. They were so sad when Bama was losing then noticeably cheered up once the comeback was on.

How about Nessler & Neuheisel as a duo.

Love Neuheisel on Sirius XM and in the studio.

He went on about it, kept going on about it after the commercial, and was STILL going on about it after Alabama scored to make it 24-10

It was the biggest melt i've ever seen from a commentator, blew my mind.

He did seem to freak out over it. Yeah, he was right but he seemed almost personally insulted.

Gary does that once a game. If he doesn't find a great conspiratorial injustice each game, he can't get a good night's sleep. We've all had to suffer through a Gary tirade against our team at some point.

Analysts don't need to have meltdowns on national TV. I wonder if he will bring it back up during next week's CBS game.
