That's like saying East Carolina is the dominant power in North Carolina or Tulane was the dominant program in Louisiana during the Shaun King years.

You're comparing two schools competing in and winning the Big 12 to two schools having success in the AAC and C-USA. The situations are nothing alike.

Now, TCU prior to realignment is comparable.

It was EXCLUSIVELY the fricking longhorns that theatened to cancel the series and refused to reschedule it if we left the Big Twatever.

Makes you wonder why so many media outlets are picking up this non-story. Who is trying to generate this media buzz? Who stands to benefit?

Do BCS/NY6 bowl games not matter, because I'm pretty sure TCU and Baylor have been to more of those recently than either A&M or Texas.

On top of that, here are the BCS/NY6 Bowl games since the BCS started:

Texas - 4
TCU - 3
Baylor - 2
A&M - 1

You're proving my point. All of those games mean absolutely nothing when it comes the landscape of CFB in the state. They're the same points that people outside of Texas love to bring up and harp on over and over and they still mean jack shite.

That'd be like me citing GaTech's OB win as a clear sign that they dominate CFB in Georgia

aTm fans are the only ones who think aTm is more relevant than TCU in the last 10 years. Or Baylor in the last 5.

So, GT winning one game is the same as TCU being more relevant than aTm over the last 10 years? That makes sense.

Texas A&M is the "it" program in Texas right now

I just don't get it.

I'm the first to admit, Texas sucks right now, and will suck as long as we have Strong, but A&M hasn't won a conference title since 1998, and won one national title in the 1930s. Does finishing third in the division of your conference make you an "it" team. A&M hasn't beaten a ranked team at home since joining the SEC. What the hell is this article about?!?

I am very serious when I say this. I don't give a shite if we ever play them again. They dangled the loss of that game as a consequence of leaving like it's how we defined ourselves and the sole source of our identity. That very may well have been the case with the older Aggies, if fact that was probably the case. But this is not your grand dad's Texas A&M. It's no longer 3:1 in terms of enrollment. It's not longer a cavern of academic difference. The move to the SEC was very symbolic of Texas A&M's growth as an institution. We had the political strength to not be suppressed and the guts to finally leave the texas realm of control. They ruled this state with an iron fist for decades, they really did. But we grew up and like Pat Dye once told Bear, "We aren't afraid of you anymore." Change is tough to accept, even for some Aggies. But we have spent over 500 million on faciliites and our stadium to ensure that we are intent on having long term success. Sumlin and his tenure have reflected a lot of those growing pains. Mostly disappointing seasons if I'm being honest but you can't objectively look at the power and potential for Texas A&M and not realize this is a program that can compete year in and out for national titles with the right people at the helm. Let the PR guys spin it however they want, we are coming. Slowly but surely.
