I only say that because they were both deserving of being in the playoff. If it were 8 teams they would have been. And Baylor also has a Heisman winner like aTm.
and if you're basing what the 'it' program is on recruiting, Texas currently has a top 10 class.

He can't be. He's constantly telling us how aTm is the "it" program going forward, despite being behind LSU and Bama in the recruiting rankings every single year.

Agreed, that for certain makes their program better than say Texas Tech. Doesn't mean they or TCU have a home when the Big 12 GOR is done though. Falling can feel a lot like flying until you hit the ground.

That is how it should be when a major program get a new highly regarded coach-they get a first year recruiting bump.
What is sad is that despite being a defensive coach we signed more kids with an offer from Charlie than he did kids with an offer from Sumlin.

6 programs from the state of Texas have a Heisman Trophy Winner. It's not that hard.

Are you talking about me? I would never say we have a brighter future than Bama, not while Nick is around.
Heck my whole dream for A&M is for us to set ourselves up to be ready by the time he dies/retires. Sumlin is a fun and cheap placeholder until that date.

Oh I certainly don't think Texas is the 'it' program right now in Texas. I'd say in the Manziel years, aTm was. But I think there's been this hangover effect since he's been gone and yall have underachieved.

Aggies need Texas because that 2012 win against Bama is losing its shine. Manziel is long gone and Sumlin is in the throes of tDecline. Playing Texas would put them back in the spotlight, which is all those College Station queens care about. They are the NY Jets of CFB

I can dig it. Good thing the #1 reason we underachieved is being addressed with an influx of highly touted defensive recruits and one stud DC. We don't have any excuses if we don't win 10 this year.

except yall didn't get the ones that matter for his scheme. You need DBs in a bad way. Had aTm landed a few top tier DB's I'd be worried. Chavis certainly doesn't coach DBs.

I started to post this on the Aggie board, but LSU fans have expressed so much interest in the A&M/Texas game, I felt I owed it to them to post it here, on the rant. I want to be a gracious guest, taking the wants and needs of my hosts into consideration.
