Hyman never understood what being an aggie truly is. That's why he didn't succeed here.

You need to read Shane's post above.

Eric Hyman has absolutely NO ROOM to talk about anything involving A&M.

All you have to know is that this fricktard actively campaigned for another school (TCU) to get a national seed over the school he worked for while on the NCAA baseball selection committee.

He was an Athletic Director for 4 years and didn't hire or fire a single coach.

Oh, and let's not forget his comments to A&M fans upset that Billy Kennedy took a team that had been to the NCAA Tournament for 6 straight years and failed to make a single tournament for his first three seasons: First, before the season, he said that the expectation was "the postseason". Then, when Kennedy failed to make even the NIT in season 3, Hyman bought a bid into the CIB tournament (triggering a raise for himself in the process). Finally, he told fans that were livid about it, "you need to manage your expectations".

That having been said, Elaine Mendoza, Morris Foster, and Jim Wilson are 100% responsible for the current shite-show of a contract Sumlin has.

A&M was riding the momentum of entering the SEC, Johnny winning the Heisman, beating Bama at Bama, stomping the Big 12 Champions Oklahoma at the Cotton Bowl, a half billion dollar upgrade to Kyle Field, renovating the facilities, high oil prices, tu firing Mack Brown and hiring Charlie Strong, etc etc etc.

I'm not happy with the contract, but it was meant to keep momentum, and it's understandable to some degree.

The same Aggies who thought Sumlin walked on water now have icons of opposing teams in their profiles.

Remember them saying Sumlin had a foot-long dick?

Now they are blaming their administrators for even hiring him.

Never heard Longhorn fans want regents removed and presidents fired for hiring Charlie Strong.

Y'all want everyone fired.

I never took that to mean anything other than a personal experience they could confirm after manning the gloryholes on campus.

A&M is a weird place, with half the fans still harboring the ideologies of the past.

Things like having to be in the Corps go be a student and not admitting coeds -- are all part of their history, and there are many fans that remember that. They didn't let women go to school there until the 60's, which coincided with ending the mandatory policy of joining the Corps.

And all their weirdo rules surrounding the cadets and so on. It's its own culture and a lot of people don't get it. They used to make fish walk in the gutters, and they weren't allowed to use the sidewalks. All sorts of nutty shite.

Plebes at West Point have to square their corners when they walk. What's your point?

Exhibit A of "loyal" aggy having icons of opposing teams in hopes of running off a coach who at one time they continually sucked off.

P.S: You DID fire Loftin and you want John Sharp's head on a platter.

And you are being disingenuous about M Young; you'd walk across red-hot glass to run him off.

I think his point is that outsiders laugh out loud when aggy compares itself to West Point.

In what world is leaving to take a job as a SYSTEM CHANCELLOR when you're a UNIVERSITY PRESIDENT a firing?

Missouri fired Loftin, not A&M.

We all marvel at your insight and acumen into how the military works.

That's not what happened, at all. He was fired as president then went back to his tenured professorship, THEN left for Missouri.

Hyman was not a good AD and I'm sure he's covering himself to some extent, but I don't doubt what he says. Fans who follow the program knew this to be true before he was ever around. If you want to know how a "sleeping giant" never wakes up and remains mediocre, how he describes our football program (which is what most boosters only care about) is how.

I hope our current AD or one down the line has the balls to stand up and try to change the way people think, even if it might cost him his job. Otherwise we will probably be stuck in the cycle we are in
