Andrew Wiggins is pretty good. Mario Chalmers has been good.

He'll be getting his arse whipped by Kentucky in January regardless, just in a different uniform.

Howland and he thought it was going to be the Malik show. But he was average player at best and we had another freshman play better than him in Weatherspoon I believe. So he is going to try to go somewhere else where it can be the malik show because in reality he is not as good as he was in high school when he gets put up against college players. That's really all.

there's a little thing called "development" that plays a pretty big part in how a player does going from the High School ranks to college.

He played in a fairly average conference....it isn't like in football where you're playing ranked teams almost every single game.

There are two actual, likely scenarios for what happened:
1. Howland didn't develop him at all.
2. His style of play didn't fit into the system that Howland runs.

could also be that he wasn't playing his natural position. I didn't watch enough MSU games to be able to see it.

If he doesn't amount to shite at Kansas....then your argument might actually have some merit.

But needless to say....The Malik Newman experiment has failed.

You missed 3 and 4:

3) He was injured a good bit.
4) He wasn't as good as he thought he was. Hard to play with a puffed out bottom lip.

and that caused him to transfer?

Then Howland fricked up by signing the kid. His job is to evaluate talent and character.

He was good enough to sign. He just isn't as good as his daddy told he was. He could have stayed/could have gone. Made me no difference.

Ole Miss fans loved to hate Korvic Neat. But it isn't his fault that Nutt talked him up to be the next Dexter McCluster when he wasn't as talented and was never developed.

That's all on Houston Nutt.

There aren't many Lebron James in the world. You can't just assume that every #1 player out of high school is going to be able to come in and dominate at the next level based only off of raw talent.

So which is it? You are an expert on Malik or in your words:

He want to play Pg at MSU, Howland gave him a shot but he wasn't as good as IJ ready(which says a lot because ready is an average player at best) and he could not get out on the floor at SG because we had another freshman who was way better in Quindarry Weatherspoon.

With Lamar Peters coming in and Mario Kegler we were going to have a bunch of wing players next year. Kind of glad he is transferring because we would have way to many wing players trying to find playing time with him here as well.

ETA: typed this on my phone so excuse grammar and spelling.

Bingo. Howland sold him on the idea he'd let him play PG, and then when he couldn't cut it, he moved him to where he belongs at the 2. He didn't line that because he's a primadonna who thinks he knows better. We recruited him to play the 2 but Cal told him straight up he would never play point here.

He went from consensus 5* one-and-done first-rounder, to barely on the draft board. He missed time because of injuries, and didn't really get a chance to get enough minutes to find his game and get used to the college pace.

Malik and those close to him will blame Howland, because that's what you're supposed to do as a struggling star player, when really he just wasn't healthy enough to develop his game this year.

He might not have imagined these circumstances, but Howland wasn't planning on having him back next year, anyway. So, I doubt he's sweating it all that much. Plus he cleaned up in recruiting last year. All is well.

Andrew Wiggins has to have more than a good year on a shite team.

And Chalmers is fricking garbage. I mean when you have James, Wade and Bosh its a lot easier for you. Seems if was any good and an important cog he wouldn't have been shipped off or able to get away. Haven't heard a peep about him since his waterboy days in Miami

Cool, okay careers. Brandon Rush has a ring too. How many people knew Brandon Rush still played before GS won it all?

Don't get me wrong okay gets you 18 million a year plus, just ask Noah. Not because they deserve it but because of the ridiculous rules that you have to pay a certain amount each year or be penalized.

Superstars should make bank.
Stars should make less but still make bank.
Okay players should be paid off production.
Role players should get the minimum.

Its not just for basketball it's for all sports and it's ridiculous. Unfortunately only the NBA has seen its product vastly decline in a short time because of this.
